Photography has always been Melissa’s talent, however, she didn’t expect to capture a perfect image of the most important question she would ever be asked. Melissa was photographing Ben who secretly wrote the words “Marry Me” in lights. As the photo developed Melissa read the words through her camera lens and was overwhelmed with joy. The photograph is now a keepsake for one of the most magical moments of their life.
Channeling Old Hollywood Glamour, Melissa wowed in a Karen Willis Holmes gown, which she paired with a skirt overlay for the ceremony. Her look was complemented with soft, subtle makeup and old Hollywood style hair, pinned to the side with soft vintage waves.
Dockside’s L’Aqua Gold Room was decorated beautifully, sticking to a neutral colour scheme with subtle hints of gold. Melissa styling inspiration came from the room itself and she wanted to accentuate the gold features throughout the room.
Melissa’s most important piece of advice to future brides and grooms is to “create a spreadsheet or list to keep track of everything to help minimise the stress.”
