Another year gone, another year where we’re left wondering where we’ll be able to get an eyeful of the world-famous Sydney fireworks. As one of the first countries to ring in the New Year, we’re privy to (arguably) one of the best displays in the world, thanks to our stunning harbour and magnificent structures (the Harbour Bridge waterfall fireworks are a favourite).
So forget watching the show on TV – or worse, the next day on YouTube – here are the 5 best places where you can catch Sydney’s world-class New Year’s Eve fireworks.
With a front row seat to Sydney Harbour, you won’t want to move from your vantage point at Luna Park once the show begins. Nestled right beside the iconic Harbour Bridge and with the Opera House in clear sight, you’ll feel like a kid again as you watch the spectacular display in awe. If you’re lucky enough to be in one of Luna Park’s many gorgeous wedding venues, including the new Palais, you’ll enjoy an uninterrupted panoramic view as you dine and dance the night away.

If you’re looking for a garden party with a view, Botanic Gardens Restaurant offers an exclusive vantage point and spectacular food to match. With a seven-course degustation and a private lawn to watch the fireworks from as live music plays, you won’t want the night to end. But if you’ve missed out on locking in your spot for this year’s New Year’s celebration, you can still buy tickets to their sister event in The Calyx, where you’ll watch the fireworks with their stunning 18,000 plant Pollination wall as your backdrop.
