Picture your wedding at Pyrgos Restaurant

A restaurant in hilltop Pyrgos since 1988, with its own chapel, 5 event halls and a garden looking across the island towards the caldera.

Your wedding

Pyrgos Restaurant keeps the whole day in one place. Ceremonies can take place in Aghia Fotini Chapel, the small chapel on the property, or in the outdoor area beside the halls, which seats up to 150 guests and has its own bar and sound system. Couples who want the caldera behind them for the vows often marry at Santo Wines first, then make the short drive back up the hill for dinner.

Your stay

Pyrgos Restaurant does not have rooms, so guests base themselves in Pyrgos village or elsewhere on the island and come together for the celebration. Pyrgos is one of the highest villages on Santorini, which keeps it a little quieter than Fira or Oia and central enough for most hotels to reach easily.

Receptions move between 5 spaces: the Central Hall, the Panorama Hall, Saint Fotini Hall, the Small Private Hall and the Garden. That spread is the real advantage here. A party of 20 can have a private room with views over the island, while a larger group can spill out into the Garden for drinks at sunset and then dance indoors. A bridal room is set aside for getting ready, and the wedding menu leans on seasonal Greek produce.

Between events, guests can wander the lanes of the old village, book a tasting at Santo Wines on the caldera edge nearby, or come back to the restaurant for a long lunch before the wedding weekend begins.

Get answers before you enquire

Can we have the ceremony at Pyrgos Restaurant itself?
Yes. The property has its own chapel, Aghia Fotini, and an outdoor area beside the halls that seats up to 150 guests.
Can we marry at Santo Wines and hold the reception at Pyrgos Restaurant?
Yes, this is a common pairing. The 2 venues are a short drive apart in the Pyrgos area, so guests can move from caldera-edge vows to dinner without a long transfer.
Does Pyrgos Restaurant suit a very small wedding?
It does. The Small Private Hall is set up for small groups, so an intimate party can dine privately while the rest of the restaurant carries on.
Is there somewhere to get ready on the day?
Yes, the restaurant has a bridal room for preparations before the ceremony.
Can we hold a celebration other than a wedding at Pyrgos Restaurant?
Yes. Your Wedded Advisor can plan a vow renewal, anniversary, milestone birthday or honeymoon at Pyrgos Restaurant. Tell us what you are celebrating when you enquire.
Can we marry legally at Pyrgos Restaurant?
Visitors can marry in a civil ceremony at the town hall, with documents translated into Greek; many hold a symbolic ceremony instead. Check the current rules with the Australian Embassy in Athens, and see the steps on our Santorini page.
