The journey

A loop from Windhoek in your own 4x4, heading south-east into the Kalahari and then west to the high dunes of Sossusvlei. Two nights in the seaside town of Swakopmund give you a free day on the coast, and two more at the Erindi reserve leave time for game drives before a final night in Windhoek.

Highlights

  • Sunrise among the Sossusvlei dunes
  • Sesriem Canyon
  • A free day in Swakopmund
  • Two nights at a private game reserve
Red sand and scrub stretching to distant hills under a crimson sky

A row of pastel German colonial buildings with turrets in Swakopmund
A long jetty reaching out over the Atlantic surf at Swakopmund
The view from a shaded lodge deck over green bush to a flat-topped mountain
