Cape Panwa Hotel offers more ceremony settings than most Phuket resorts, all on a verdant hillside above its own private beach. The Wedding Terrace sits in leafy shade over the water and takes up to 100 guests. The beach holds up to 150, and Panwa House, a historic Sino-Portuguese mansion, can host up to 150 on its veranda, its lawn, the sand in front or inside the house itself. For something unusual, the Panwa Princess takes up to 40 guests for vows at sea.

The resort offers 12 types of suites and pool villas, from Junior Suites and the 78 square metre Cape Suite Sea View to the 3-bedroom Panwa Lodge and the 530 square metre Cape Absolute Suite with a private pool.

Bamboo Bar, on the beach, suits a Christian-style ceremony, a Thai Buddhist ceremony or a vow renewal followed by an al fresco meal. Top of the Reef seats up to 70 for a private ceremony and dinner, and the air-conditioned Function Room takes up to 200 with a formal meal or buffet afterwards. A dedicated function planner coordinates the day, and couples can also marry in Otter's Bar before dinner at Top of the Reef with the resident pianist.

Between events, guests can take out paddleboards, kayaks and sea canoes, try windsurfing or water skiing, or stay on land for Muay Thai, private yoga and batik painting. Thai cooking classes run at Café Andaman on Fridays and Saturdays. Cape Spa covers bridal preparation, the Monkeys' Club looks after children, and Phuket Town is a short drive away.
