The 2022 Oscars hosted for the 94th time on March 28th, has brought the awards season to an end today. We’re here to fill you in on what you really want to know, the moments, the fashion, the fabulousness of it all!

The film industry’s A-list veterans, behind-the-scenes talent, and most promising newbies congregate on Hollywood Boulevard, as they have for each Academy Awards ceremony since 2002, to walk the red carpet before being seated inside the Dolby Theatre.

The Best-dressed
Nicole Kidman
Since her debut appearance at the Academy Awards in 1991, Kidman has produced a slew of spectacular red carpet moments, and 2022 was no exception.
What to wear to such a monumental occasion when there are so many things going on in the world? A gown exuding “quiet elegance”, as her stylist Julia Von Boehm described. The gown honours the enormity of the occasion whilst still considerate of the restless time the world is experiencing. Kidman donned a light blue silk bustier gown by Armani Privé, with an exaggerated bow and an embroidered train.
Jessica Chastain
In a shimmering ombré bronze and purple gown, the star of Tammy Faye’s Eyes was a Gucci queen. Last year’s ‘Love Parade’ runway featured classic Hollywood glam outfits by the Italian designer, which Chastain embraced of the red carpet. Serving mesmerising mermaid vibes!
Zendaya
Zendaya has returned to the Academy Awards red carpet, competing hard for a spot on the best-dressed list (let’s be honest she doesn’t need to try very hard!).
The Dune star continued her tendency for putting fresh spins on traditional shapes with a cropped silk menswear shirt and a silver sequinned floor-length skirt, put together by her image director Law Roach. She completed the set with a matching necklace and studded earrings, as well as a stack of Bulgari Serpenti Viper single- and double-coil bracelets on both arms and wrists. She is breathtakingly gorgeous.
Lily James
Oh, Mama Mia! Lily James came looking stunning to her first Oscars, rocking a pale pink Atelier Versace Couture gown with a thigh-high slit and plunging sweetheart neckline. The floral and lace embellishment on the corset-styled bodice carried over to the curve-hugging skirt. The gown also included a stunning transparent tulle skirt, which Lily flaunted for the cameras.
Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita Nyong’o is known for her hair, so we expected a fabulous hair moment from her. That, and a stunning gown, which she served at this years Oscars. First, let’s speak about the outfit: In a gown adorned with golden paillettes and sequins, Lupita, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2014, looked like beautiful. She wore a gown with a plunging open back, layered with tiny beads fashioned into a floral motif.
Then there’s her hair, which she and her go-to hairdresser Vernon François create on a regular basis and which look like works of art. François constructed an updo composed of locs this time, but he didn’t stop there. A closer examination of the updo shows the stunning spirals that make up the massive bun. It’s spectacularly detailed, not to mention beautiful.
Demi Singleton
Demi Singleton’s lilac gown on the red carpet at the 2022 Oscars was the epitome of spring.
We weren’t shocked to see the ‘King Richard’ actress wow today, given her impeccable style in the run-up to the Oscars. Demi’s personal lilac The ombre effect on Miu Miu’s garment sparkled in more ways than one. She didn’t need much else to stand out other than those modest drop earrings and a slicked back hair to do so.
Sofia Carson
She still reigns supreme! Sofia Carson Sofia Carson was unforgettable in a black Giambattista Valli princess gown. When she arrived at the star-studded event, the actress and singer posed for shots in a tulle gown, showing off all sides of the gown. Unforgettable.
Sofia accessorised the high-fashion gown with her typical side-part, winged eyeliner, and beautiful jewellery. The one shoulder is everything!
Becky G
Becky G dazzled in a stunning gown and sky-high heels at the 2022 Oscars.
The “Shower” singer walked the red carpet in a strapless Etro gown that sparkled. The slim-fitting gown featured allover crystal embroidery and hip embellishments in the shape of flowers. For more glitz, sparkling diamond rings and drop earrings were added to the beautiful ensemble.
Emilia Jones
Emilia Jones carried her BAFTAs excitement to the 2022 Oscars. The British actress donned a bespoke Dolce & Gabbana gold ombre gown with a sexy cut-out, which was totally embroidered with Swarovski crystals. Such 90s glamour vibes, and we’re loving it!
Carolina Gaitán
Carolina Gaitan never goes unnoticed, whether it’s due of her voice or her unique fashion sense. The Colombian singer did not disappoint anybody on this occasion, posing in front of the cameras in a pink satin asymmetric dress. She stood out in the voluminous cloak with oversized sleeves, that wrapped neatly over her shape. She looked regal and stunning on the red carpet.

Perhaps it’s a tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood or a call for a return to drama after years of drabness. nonetheless, we just know that red is here to stay with some of the frequent best-dressed celebrities donning the colour. Goodbye LBD, hello Big Black Dress. This years Oscars red carpet saw a multitude of black ball gowns, exuding elegance and class. There’s just something about a black gown styled perfectly that screams royalty and we love it. As usual there’s nothing more classic than a black dress and to see it elevated in the gowns that were showcased was just mesmerising.
Pretty in Pastels
At the 2022 Oscars, soft pastels were prominent, with several of the show’s top candidates donning spring-inspired hues. This style is still making waves in the industry, and we noticed it all on the red carpet. Pastels, sherbet tints, bright and bold colours, and the softest hues will definitely be making their way into fashion trends after this carpet!
