Nicole met Keith at the 2005 G’Day USA gala, approximately four years after she divorced Tom Cruise in 2001. Although it was almost love at first sight, none of them believed the other was interested. Nicole said to Ellen DeGeneres in 2017 that she had a crush on him but that he wasn’t interested in her.
On The Oprah Winfrey Show, Keith defended his position and asserted, “I swear to you, she glided across the room, floated. I don’t know how she did it. It was out of this world and there was a split moment where she wasn’t with anybody, and I thought, ‘I’ll just go up and say hi.”
Fast forward and they’ve been married for 16 years!
Nicole honoured the event with a rare Instagram post of the couple on their wedding day. “Sweet XVI,” Nicole captioned. “Remember this like it was yesterday. Forever.”
