Love Wins! Couple Has Private Wedding With 5 People

This couple didn’t let Coronavirus get in the way of their nuptials! Instead, they cut down their 350 person wedding, to 5 in the church, and only immediate family for the celebration that followed. The couple plans to have an amazing reception in 2021, on their one year wedding anniversary!

‘Our wedding, although not what we had originally planned was the best day of our lives. It was intimate, meaningful and full of love. When you are faced with something like this, and when everything you have planned for is essentially decimated before your eyes, it’s a very harsh reality and it makes you realise how fragile life is. It puts things into perspective and you’re forced to think about what’s most important to you. We decided that love was the most important thing, and that our want for the “marriage” was stronger than our want for the “wedding celebrations”.’

‘My fiancé and I tied the knot in a private ceremony and it was amazing! I met the wonderful John from Cinemotive on the Wedded Wonderland Facebook Group and it was such a blessing! He worked with us to create a bespoke package which catered to our needs for the day and captured everything from my dad walking me down the aisle right through to our private family dinner. It was so magical! Again, thank you for creating a safe space for us brides and a place where we can connect with amazing suppliers, it truly helped me on my wedding journey and I have the most wonderful memories captured because of it.’

Advice from the bride: “My advice for anyone who is contemplating what to do with their wedding plans is to follow your heart. There is no right or wrong way to handle this, the decision should ultimately be based on what is going to fulfil you as a couple. If you do choose to proceed and marry now in a private ceremony, it is your chance to share something truly intimate and special with your other half, you can start your life as a married couple and then once the dust settles pick things back up and have a wonderful blessing ceremony and reception to celebrate with all your loved ones at a later date. These are unprecedented times – there is no expectations on how things should be done, so find what works for you. If you choose to wait it out, your silver linings are that you have so much more time to prepare, save, even revisit your plans and fine tune or changes things up. Stay positive, remember that the most important thing is you have each other and remember that when this is all over you are going to have one hell of a story to tell your children and grandchildren one day!”
