Lia Georgantis and John Halias are now officially married! The Girls with Gems CEO wed her fiancé in a scenic getaway wedding on the 24th of August in beautiful Athens, and they couldn’t have been happier!
Prior to this luxe destination wedding, the couple legally wed in an intimate surprise civil ceremony on the 19th of May.
To welcome their nearest and dearest to the warm shores of Greece, Lia and John kicked off their wedding weekend with a party at the DOT Beach Vibes Bar. There, the couple dined, drank, and took glamorous seaside snaps with their loved ones.
Lia looked absolutely gorgeous in the Aubrey dress by Natalie Rolt via Girls with Gems. It was a lacy dream in white, featuring a flattering off-shoulder neckline and a sultry backless cut, as well as a draped skirt that rose into a high slit. So chic!
Lia and John’s solemn ceremony was held under the majestic dome of the St. Nektarios church in Voula, nestled a mere 20-minute drive away from the reception venue. The Greek Orthodox church was a breathing work of art, adorned with vibrant paintings across every surface. It was certainly a celebration to behold!
Held at the Reef Athens Riviera, the reception was a relaxing beachside affair, framed beneath the wispy branches of overhead trees. Rattan chairs complemented the snowy white tables, while playful flower arrangements by Felicia in vibrant purples, blues, yellows, and reds—much like the motif of the St. Nektarios church—decorated the tables and the couple’s canopy.
No talk of a wedding is ever complete without a rundown of one of its foremost symbols: the wedding dress. Lia’s was by The Ivory Room Bridal, a gown studio based in Sydney. The dress was a high-slit number with an A-line skirt paired with a strapless bustier top. While minimal, the dress was sophisticated and feminine, perfectly complementing Lia’s undeniable glow!
During the ceremony, the gown was accessorized with embroidered tulle gloves, a veil, and dainty head jewelry.
As for the reception and afterparty, Lia wore two dresses by couturier Velani. Her reception pick was an off-white sheer halter cut-out gown, decorated with frosty beads. Meanwhile, she donned the most adorable little white corset dress in rich satin, embellished with flowers!
