When TikTok darling Becca Bloom (aka Rebecca Ma) said “I do” to software engineer David Pownall at Villa Balbiano, Lake Como, it was one of those weddings that instantly felt different.

From the 60-guest intimate guest list to the Oscar de la Renta gown embroidered with peonies for her Chinese heritage, Becca’s wedding was full of meaning. But then there were the florals: lush, romantic, almost cinematic in scale, that lit up the whole wedding.

In a exclusive interview with Larry, we unpacked how those viral flowers came together, from unexpected weather curveballs to the design details that had everyone talking.
Outdoor Lake Como ceremony? Iconic. Surprise rain clouds? Less so. But when the forecast turned, Larry and his team didn’t flinch, they reinvented the setup overnight.
“It’s no surprise that we did have to pivot when we discovered the weather was not going to be in our favour and re-design part of the wedding celebration, moving it indoors,” Larry shares.
Instead of mourning the Plan A, they went all-in on Plan B. “We used heavily romantic draping to create an intimate guest experience and using the ideas we had previously discussed, made adjustments to create a scheme that would be every bit as timeless, elegant and memorable as the first concept,” he says.
If you’ve seen the photos, you know exactly what we’re talking about: those massive floral trees that framed the couple with Lake Como in the background.
“I think we can all agree that the wedding ceremony design, with those larger-than-life trees standing tall in front of the lake view are totally iconic and what everyone is currently talking about,” Larry says.
And while the trees looked like they were plucked straight out of a fantasy movie, the color story was grounded in reality. “The inclusion of blue into the [florals], when you have such dramatic blue lighting and skies behind, works perfectly against Mother Nature herself,” Larry explains. The result? A floral design that felt ethereal and deeply rooted in the setting. No wonder the intertnet can’t stop looping it.
Lake Como is dreamy, but it’s not exactly a floral supply hub. So how did Larry’s team pull it off?
“With design studios in Lake Como, Italy as well as London, Cannes and New York, we are adept at working internationally and ensuring the very best quality flowers at all times,” he says.
As for the question on everyone’s mind: just how many flowers went into this wedding, Larry plays coy. “We never tell!”
Looking back, it’s hard to separate Becca’s wedding from the flowers that defined it. They carried the mood, softened the rain, and turned every space into a reflection of love’s wild, untamable nature.
“Becca has a wonderful sensibility and taste level. Her ideas were original, and she was a wonderful partner in the design process. We spent many months working closely together and refining each detail of her wedding design until everything was exactly as she had imagined it,” Larry says.
“Her love for colour and texture is a joy for us to embrace and it was wonderful to collaborate with someone who appreciates each and every detail in the same way that we do,” he adds.
The floral design turned a luxury wedding into something that felt both larger than life and deeply personal, reminding everyone there that perfection isn’t about control; it’s about knowing how to let beauty bloom, even in the unexpected.
