Katy Perry & Justin Trudeau: A Romance That Could Steal the Spotlight at Wedded Week 2025

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau confirmed their romance in Paris, and while the internet’s losing it, we can’t help but wonder, will this unexpected love story steal some of Wedded Week’s spotlight?

While the rest of us were busy tuning in to Wedded Week 2025, catching up on bridal trends and swooning over destination wedding setups, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau apparently decided to soft-launch their own rom-com in Paris. We’re talking hand-holding, roses, birthday celebrations, and paparazzi flashbulbs, basically the world’s most political meet-cute.

Now, before anyone panics, no, there’s no wedding announcement (yet). And yes, we know Wedded Week isn’t technically about celebrity gossip. But you have to admit, the timing is suspiciously cinematic. 

Just as the global wedding industry gathered for one of the most glamorous weeks in the bridal calendar, Katy and the former Canadian Prime Minister said, “Let’s give the people something to talk about.”

Their romance has been quietly building for months: a dinner in Montreal here, a stroll through Mount Royal Park there, and of course, that now-infamous yacht sighting off the coast of California. But it wasn’t until Katy’s 41st birthday that things went officially official. The two were spotted leaving Crazy Horse Paris hand in hand, with a fan presenting Katy a rose like something straight out of a Hallmark movie,  except this one stars a pop icon and a retired head of state.

The more you think about it, the more it makes sense: he’s diplomatic, she’s dramatic; he ran a country, she runs the charts; both have a flair for grand gestures and heartfelt speeches. It’s giving press conference meets power ballad.

But okay, back to Wedded Week 2025, because that’s the real love story we’re celebrating right now. The global bridal event is in full swing,  with hundreds of luxury vendors, designers, and planners showcasing everything from couture gowns to far-flung venues. And while Katy and Justin may have momentarily hijacked the headlines, their timing feels poetic: love stories, after all, are the core of what Wedded Week is all about.
