On the 16th of October, Wedded Wonderland set the stage for an unforgettable day as we hosted ‘Icons of OZ’, an exclusive familiarization event hosting 30 of Australia’s most ICONIC Wedding Planners, Stylists, Florists, Photographers, Content Creators and Designers!
Together, we embarked on an extravagant and educational journey, visiting two of Australia’s most iconic event spaces, the renowned Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House and the breathtaking Taronga Events Centre at Taronga Zoo. Both managed under one of the nation’s leading hospitality and venue groups, Trippas White Group, our mission was no less than to showcase these celebrated venues and offerings with leading industry decision makers and influencers, and to Wedded Wonderland’s couples seeking unique wedding venues, with incredible offerings and views to match!
Our journey commenced at the heart of Australia’s cultural tapestry, within the illustrious Sydney Opera House. Easily accessible via each side of the boardwalk, the Yallamundi Rooms find themselves ensconced within the iconic shell-like structure that graces countless postcards worldwide.

As we stepped inside, we encountered narratives that intricately weave inspiration into the very fabric of these event spaces.
With a capacity to accommodate up to 400 guests across three distinct indoor and outdoor spaces, the Yallamundi Rooms seamlessly blend contemporary elegance with rich cultural significance against the mesmerizing backdrop of Sydney’s majestic harbor. Showcasing oscillating fabric and brass panels, an in-house audio-visual company, 75 rigging points, and a collection of curated event menus, this venue is perfect for hosting both intimate gatherings and grand events. What makes it truly stand out, is the incorporation of an outdoor space within your venue rental, rendering it the perfect location for wedding ceremonies, canapés, cocktail hours, or even the most grandiose of receptions.
‘Icons of Oz’ served as a heartfelt tribute to our guests, all industry luminaries creating change in both the local and international wedding markets. Throughout our journey, our guests elegantly donned the black and white theme, dressing in their best attire, paying homage to the branding and history of these remarkable venues.
Transporting guests to our next destination, our vision was nothing short of extraordinary! Our guests traversed the waters between these iconic venues, setting sail aboard the ‘John Oxley’ luxury yacht, and it was nothing short of magical.
Laughter filled the air, and drinks flowed freely as we glided serenely across the glistening backdrop of Sydney’s Harbour. The yacht charter wasn’t just a means of transportation; it was a celebration in itself!
With the harbor’s sparkling waters as our stage and the iconic landmarks as our backdrop, our guests enjoyed a truly unique and unforgettable experience as they sailed through Sydney’s splendor. Before delving into the site tour the Trippas White Group Team introduced Taronga Zoo with a heartfelt acknowledgment to the Cammeraigal people, their Country, spirit and traditions as customary owners of the country upon which the Zoo stands.

The pinnacle of the famil, our Icons Lunch unfolded on the extraordinary Gili Rooftop! Positioned at the highest point of the venue, the panoramic view of Sydney’s sweeping harbor views is a backdrop that will stay with guests forever.
Infused with the ICONIC touch of Wedded Wonderland, we collaborated with event suppliers consistently pushing the envelope in the wedding and events industry to adorn the black and white event theme. Bringing our vision to life, the venue was artfully styled, featuring personalized menus from Edge House Designs, intricate floral arrangements from Melissa Dcruz Floral, and a meticulously curated black and white table setting presenting candles, cutlery, crockery, and glassware supplied by Harbourside Decorators.
To immortalize the entire event, the incredibly skilled teams at Inlighten Photography and On the Day Socials worked their magic. Meticulously capturing enchanting moments, from the very beginning to the grand finale, ensuring that every magical aspect of the day was preserved.
The day was enriched with insightful words from our founder, Wendy El-Khoury, emphasizing the endless possibilities within our vibrant city and the dazzling venues we explored alongside Trippas White Group.
