HAIR TIPS FOR THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE

The Mother of the bride is one of the most important people in the wedding party. We recently  spoke with Bernadette, from Hair by Bernadette, who prepped the special mothers at our Mother’s Day high tea event, and gave us all sorts of amazing hair tips for Mother of the Bride.

What sort of hair styles are suitable for the Mother of the Bride?

The two best options for the Mother of the bride are either a soft elegant updo, or a blow-dry with plenty of body and volume

What are some of the biggest hair mistakes people make on the wedding day?

Over use of hairspray, overly stiff hair, curls that are too tight, and opting for hairstyles that don’t suit the face of the shape.

What sort of hair routine should a Mother of the Bride get into before the wedding ?

Mother’s should go for regular hair treatments, and trims. One treatment I would recommend is the Charcoal treatment which relaxes and softens the hair, controls frizz and makes it much easier to style.

What are some of the most popular styles for the Mother of the Bride at the moment?

The effortless look is definitely trending right now. This look could include: soft waves, loose curls or a low softly styled bun.

What are some tips to keep hair looking fresh on the day of the wedding?

It’s all about the product! Frizz control and humidity proof products are a must.

What sort of hair cut and style suits different face shapes?

Round face shapes suit longer, layered hair, and should opt for a side fringe as opposed to hair parted down the middle. Oval shapes can really pull off any cut, however face framing layers look great on oval faces, and softer hair styles are most suitable. Square shapes suit a concave hair cut with either short or long layers.

There you have it fairies, an abundance of tips for your special mother!
