Ellie Gonsalves and Ross Scutts’ wedding was a dreamy Mediterranean-inspired celebration of their 14-year love story. The couple honored Ellie’s father in touching ways, with his name engraved on Ellie’s wedding band and heartfelt speeches centered around their closest friends. The intimate ceremony and dinner were held exclusively for Ellie and Ross’ nearest and dearest on a magical Monday night. Ellie stunned in three breathtaking couture dresses, each one more stunning than the last, making her the epitome of a modern-day fairy tale bride.
Alysia Bridger, the mastermind behind the couple’s big day, brought their vision to life with meticulous attention to detail. The picturesque La Luna, a floating beach club with a breathtaking view of the marina, served as the idyllic setting for the ceremony. Ellie’s dress was a masterpiece, crafted by designer Sam Oglialoro and stylist Paul Versace. The trio designed three dresses that not only complemented Ellie’s skin tone but also captured the essence of the Mediterranean-inspired theme. Her long-sleeved gown, complete with an illusion neckline, a dramatic train, and floral appliques, was a show-stopper. The 1920s-inspired capped veil, adorned with delicate petals, added to her overall goddess-like appearance, making for a truly unforgettable bridal look.
And yes, Daisy their dog was the ring bearer. Stylist Paul Versace known as Styled by Bloom led the fashion at this wedding, and he did not disappoint!
Ellie and Ross opted for a personal and intimate wedding ceremony, with ONLY the couple in attendance, a reflection of their desire to keep their union focused on each other. The presence of their fathers was felt through picture frames displayed, symbolizing their everlasting love and support. The couple then hosted a chic and exclusive dining experience at Hope Island, exclusively inviting their closest friends and family who helped bring their special day to life. Chef Alistair McLeod designed a divine a la carte menu, tailored to the couple’s tastes, and added a tantalizing culinary touch to an already enchanting day.
Ellie wore her first Oglio Loro gown on this day, in what was considered the ultimate bridal moment. It is described as a “Low plunging strapless fitted and corseted gown cascading into the train with illusion tulle neck and sleeves. Layers of plain and spotted tulle back the 3D hand-embellished flower detail, highlighted with beaded sections which overlayed the Italian corded lace. Finished with the same detail was the crowning glory …. The veil.”
Day two was a celebration! Family and friends came together at the ‘white party’ reception, in La Luna to party the night away and reflect on this beautiful couple’s love. Ellie wore dress two which was an “Embroidered tulle finished with tiny sequin detail and beaded highlights was the base for this fitted, strapless, high split, semi-sheer pencil gown. Detailed hand-beaded pearl embellishments lifted the bodice to another level of interest. The tulle veil finished with hundreds of hand-stitched pearls in varying sizes were concentrated from the crown and bled through to nothing. …. A very ethereal moment as it was placed over the face.”
Dress three was the ultimate party dress, which was rocked by Ellie for the cutting of the cake. “Wanting to keep the feel and detail of the previous 2 gowns, the party dress encapsulated, the sheer, the lace, and the corsetry. A fun and sophisticated finale piece.” Ellie wore Calleija jewels, who designed her engagement ring as well as wedding bands.
Ellie surprised Ross with a song recorded and sung by her as a wedding gift. Yes, Ellie can sing!
Ross also made an outfit change for the wedding festivities, showcasing his impeccable sense of style. He wore a classic black tie suit for the ceremony and later donned a double-breasted European cut suit in white for the reception, both crafted by the talented Dyon Su.
Ellie and Ross’ wedding team comprised mainly of Ellie’s close friends or those who became close friends during the planning process. The talented photographer, Lauren Schulz, captured the essence of their love and the enchanting moments of their special day. Meanwhile, Alysia, the wedding planner, worked her magic with floral arrangements, incorporating them into every aspect of the celebration, from the ceremony and intimate dinner to the festivities that followed in the days after.
‘Working with Ross and Ellie to plan their two-day wedding has been an absolute dream. They are such an incredibly gorgeous couple who I just adore and we brought together the most amazing team to create the Wedding of their dreams. They were looking initially to be married overseas but when we met on-site at the stunning new venue La Luna Beach Club, at Main Beach in Queensland, Ellie and Ross fell in love with La Luna at first sight, and then all the magic happened from there. Alysia Bridger, Wedding Planner, and Stylist
