This sustainable design trend has also arrived to the bridal world and we couldn’t be more inspired! If you’re an eco-friendly bride, here are seven sustainable wedding dress designers you’ll love.
Based in Norway, Leila Hafzi designs are proudly ethical and eco-conscious. They are also stunning to behold. The creations are described as “romantic, feminine and bohemian combined with an innovative fusion of themes from different cultures”.
Sohad Acouri a Lebanese, Dubai-based designer creates the most wonderful and whimsical dresses. His designs are described as opulent and full of elegance. Not only are his designs elaborate, they are designed using only sustainable fabrics such as organic silk and cotton.
This fashion house is committed to exclusively using ecological, sustainable, cruelty free and fairly traded raw fibres and production. Tammam’s designs are produced in the same manner as a French Haute Couturier – handmade to perfection.
Vintage inspired and perfectly fairy-tale, this label uses an array of eco-friendly materials. Since they’re based in Nepal, they are also determined in providing fair trade work for marginalised communities. Every bridal gown is hand finished and perfectly tailored to the bride.
This designer will inspire the edgier bride. Lindquist has designed for Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Pink and Sharon Stone to name a few. Her designs are described as environmentally responsible with a cutting edge aesthetic. The label uses a combination of eco-conscious fabrics such as vintage cashmere, hemp blends, and organic linen.
Lenka is Australia’s first accredited ethical clothing bridal label, and is determined to creating a sustainable change in the fashion industry. Described as “delivering couture bridal designs which don’t compromise on integrity”. Lenka’s designs are ultra-feminine and perfectly bohemian.
You may recognise her name from Season 5 of Project Runway where she made the finale. Leanne Marshall’s beautiful bridal dresses are made from natural silks and laces. Her designs are light and flowing, with an air of timelessness and romantic elegance.
