Art In Motion: Delta Goodrem’s Stunning Paolo Sebastian Wedding Gown Is What Timeless Elegance Looks Like

The gown was crafted by the visionary team at Paolo Sebastian, the gown became an iconic symbol of romance, art, and heritage. Here’s a deeper dive into the making of the breath-taking wedding gown that captured the hearts of millions with exclusive insights from Paul Vasileff, the creative director and designer of Paolo Sebastian. Brides! If you want a gown that captures fashion, history and your love story, then this is how you do it.

Paolo Sebastian Wedding Gown For Delta Goodrem

Bridal Fashion Blended With History

Delta’s wedding gown, designed by Paolo Sebastian Creative Director and Designer, Paul Vasileff, was a true work of art. The long-sleeved French tulle ball gown featured a sweeping off-the-shoulder neckline, which framed Delta’s radiant beauty effortlessly. The scalloped and lattice detailing created a delicate yet striking texture that complemented the gown’s graceful lines. But the real showstopper? The statement pleated skirt with its cascading cathedral train, a perfect blend of drama and elegance.

“This gown needed to reflect the grandeur of the location,” says Vasileff, sharing his inspiration for the design. “The initial mood was to create a look that was classic and timeless to fit the location. We drew inspiration from the frescoes on the ceiling of St Paul’s Cathedral in Malta. These breathtaking artworks really set the tone for the embroidery and overall design.”

Indeed, the frescoes provided a divine influence, blending rich historical artistry with modern couture. Delta’s gown is an ode to timeless beauty, and it couldn’t have been more perfect for the stunning backdrop of St Paul’s Cathedral, a symbol of Malta’s deep cultural heritage. This fabulous wedding planned by Malta’s top luxury wedding planner, Sarah Young from Sarah Young Events turned Delta’s fairy-tale into a reality.

Couture Craftsmanship Meets Sentimentality

This gown isn’t just a visual masterpiece; it’s a love letter sewn with detail and care. From the intricate floral appliquès to the delicate cherubs hand-embroidered on the bodice, every detail tells a story. Hidden within the design are sentimental touches that reflect Delta and her partner’s unique love story, including their wedding date and a pair of heart-shaped swans that symbolise eternal love.

“Delta’s gown really exemplifies the craftsmanship and couture techniques we pride ourselves on here at Paolo Sebastian,” Vasileff  explains. “There was so much love and care put into every stitch, and every detail from the hand-embroidery to the Swarovski crystals was designed with the couple in mind. It was truly a personal creation.”

Perhaps one of the most striking elements is the veil. Crafted from embroidered Italian tulle, it’s a beautiful complement to the gown, adding layers of elegance while remaining understated. The entire ensemble is a celebration of art and emotion, blending timeless couture with personal significance. It’s no wonder Delta looked every bit the ethereal bride on her special day.

A Signature Paolo Sebastian Silhouette

At the heart of this breathtaking gown is the signature Paolo Sebastian ball gown silhouette, a style that’s become synonymous with opulence and sophistication. Delta, ever the modern bride, had a clear vision for her gown, and while there were different iterations and ideas discussed, the ball gown shape was always at the core.

“We knew we wanted to stick with the ball gown structure,” says Vasileff, reflecting on the creative process. “We tried a few different things, but it was clear from the start that this was the direction we wanted to go. From there, we worked on the embroidery style and adapted the artwork to suit the look. The choice of a blush base for the skirt was a strategic decision too. It allowed the embroidery to really pop, giving the gown a soft, romantic feel.”

This attention to detail and thoughtful design is what sets Paolo Sebastian apart in the world of couture. Each gown is more than just a dress, it’s a piece of art that embodies both the craftsmanship of the atelier and the personality of the bride.

The Perfect Destination Wedding Dress

Delta’s wedding in Malta was as enchanting as the gown itself, blending the romance of a European destination with the elegance of an iconic couture dress. The gown was not just a piece of clothing; it was a statement. It was a celebration of Delta’s personal journey, the love she shares with her partner, and the artistry that Paolo Sebastian embodies.

Paul Vasileff’s expertise in couture and his unwavering commitment to creating gowns that are as unique as the brides who wear them is what makes Paolo Sebastian a standout in the world of bridal fashion. Delta’s gown is a perfect testament to that philosophy, a timeless creation that will be admired for generations.
