Coco Jones has never really been the type to do anything halfway, so it tracks that her wedding wardrobe came with a very specific point of view.
On August 1, the Grammy-winning singer Coco and Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell tied the knot at a private residence in New York State, surrounded by close family, friends and a very fashionable guest list. But beyond the celebrity names and the packed dance floor, one of the most memorable details of the wedding was what the bride and groom wore down the aisle.
The couple turned to Off-White for custom wedding looks, with Jones in an off-the-shoulder gown and Mitchell in a coordinating white suit. Their outfits were designed with intentionally similar fabrics, custom embroidery and personal details that made the looks feel connected without looking overly matched.
And yes, this was only the beginning of Coco's bridal wardrobe.
For her ceremony look, Jones worked closely with Off-White creative director IB Kamara and the brand's director of VIP and special projects, Simon Lee.
The bride came into the process with a clear idea of the silhouettes she liked, but the collaboration allowed the team to develop the details from there. The final gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, a subtle sweetheart shape, draping around the hip and a sweeping train.
It was romantic, but not overly traditional, which feels very Coco.
The singer recalled becoming emotional during a fitting with the Off-White team, saying the experience made the moment feel surreal. The dress was ultimately less about simply finding a beautiful gown and more about creating something that felt distinctly hers.
That approach also extended to the groom.
Mitchell stepped away from the expected black tuxedo for a custom white suit designed by Off-White.
The couple's looks were intentionally created to complement one another, with similar fabrics and matching personal details. Both outfits featured custom embroidery of their initials alongside a reference to Song of Solomon 6:3, a Bible verse that holds significance for the couple.
The result was a proper bridal fashion moment without making the bride and groom look like they were wearing matching costumes.
Instead, the two looks spoke to each other.
The Off-White looks were part of a larger decision Jones made when planning her wedding wardrobe. She intentionally collaborated with Black designers throughout her wedding weekend, researching brands herself and reaching out to designers whose creative direction aligned with her own.
That included her reception gown by Esé Azénabor, which featured a fitted skirt and sparkling bodice. Jones described herself as a glitter lover when performing, so the second look allowed her to bring some of that stage energy into the reception.
For her rehearsal dinner and after-party looks, she worked with Charles C. Dieujuste, founder of bridal brand Scorcésa.
She also brought longtime collaborator Brandon Blackwood into the weekend, creating custom shoes and bags to accompany her different outfits.
In other words, Jones did not have one wedding dress moment. She had a full wardrobe arc.
Jones' attention to detail extended to her bridesmaids' dresses, too.
After discovering that the dresses she loved might not arrive in exactly the same shade, the singer decided to take matters into her own hands. Literally.
Rather than abandon the style she wanted, Jones researched the appropriate dye and hand-dyed each bridesmaid dress herself.
It is perhaps the most unexpected detail in a wedding that otherwise involved custom couture, celebrity guests and a professional planning team.
Very bride, very committed.
While the fashion was clearly important, Jones and Mitchell's wedding was ultimately about bringing their people together.
The wedding weekend began with a rehearsal dinner and welcome party on Friday, followed by the ceremony on Saturday in a draped tent. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds took a private moment before changing into their reception looks and getting back to their guests.
The reception was, according to Jones, essentially one long dance party.
DJ Dimy kept the crowd moving, while a surprise performance by Blxst gave the night another major moment. Mitchell also took charge of the after-party, bringing in another DJ and late-night bites for what became a second wind for the already very enthusiastic wedding crowd.
Among the couple's friends and family were NBA stars including Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson and Bam Adebayo, alongside Ciara and Russell Wilson.
