From the glamour of “Bling Empire” to the romance of a European wedding, Dorothy Wang‘s love story with lawyer Brandon Yankowitz has all the makings of a modern fairytale.
The couple said their “I dos” on October 11, in a romantic ceremony at the picturesque Collegio alla Querce in Florence, Italy.
After two years of whirlwind romance, travel, and lots of moments for the ‘gram, Dorothy and Brandon sealed their love with an unforgettable celebration that made everyone wish they were invited. But behind the fabulous designer gowns and a private afterparty with Saweetie and DJ Devin Lucien, this wedding was all about the people who mattered most: family, tradition, and love.
The wedding celebrations began long before the ceremony itself.
According to reports, the couple kicked things off with a rehearsal dinner on October 9 at the Italian Auberge property, where Dorothy created a warm and inviting atmosphere with a family-style dinner. Growing up Chinese, Dorothy emphasized the importance of sharing a meal together, making this part of the celebration extra special.
The next day was filled with fun activities for their guests to explore Italy, including pasta-making classes and exclusive tours of the Palazzo Gucci, ensuring that everyone was fully immersed in Italian culture before the big day. However, no celebration was complete without a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, a custom that Dorothy had hoped to incorporate into their wedding.
While Brandon was eager to include this part of the celebration right away, Dorothy wanted to wait for their second wedding in Asia, so they honored the tradition with a heartfelt tea ceremony during their Italian festivities.
For the ceremony, Dorothy looked every bit the fairy-tale bride, wearing a custom Oscar de la Renta gown designed in collaboration with Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. With a Victorian romance vibe, the dress was the ultimate showstopper.
She also wowed in custom looks throughout the week, wearing a sequin couture qipao from Laurence Xu for the tea ceremony and a Giambattista Valli haute couture gown for the reception.
For the afterparty, Dorothy switched things up in a custom AKNVAS minidress by Christian Juul Nielsen. Talk about a wardrobe of dreams!
While most couples opt for a low-key Sunday brunch after their wedding, Dorothy’s idea of the perfect afterparty was anything but ordinary.
Instead, the couple hosted a lively bash back at the Auberge with an all-night dance-off and a snack bar that could make anyone swoon.
Guests got down to beats by DJ Devin Lucien, while Saweetie took the stage for an unforgettable reception performance. As for the food? Expect to see burgers, fries, chicken wings, affogatos, tiramisu, and “matcha-gatos,” all the perfect indulgence for the night-long festivities.
The couple had kept their engagement relatively low-key, with Brandon popping the question in a private moment in October 2024.
Dorothy shared the news on Instagram, with a simple yet powerful caption: “🤍 engaged 🤍.” The romantic post featured a photo of the pair wrapped in each other’s arms, surrounded by candlelight and florals.
Dorothy later opened up in another post about how the engagement was “the greatest surprise of my life.”
Dorothy Wang and Brandon Yankowitz’s wedding in Italy wasn’t just a grand event; it was a personal, heartfelt celebration of two people who are clearly meant to be together.
From their thoughtful blend of cultural traditions to their lively afterparty, it was a wedding that encapsulated everything they love.
