Big Brother Winner Tim Dormer is Engaged!

Big Brother winner Tim Dormer has announced his engagement to partner and best friend Ash Toweel in the most poetic fashion. Taking to social media Dormer, released a touching video showcasing their love story to date and sporting some impressive matching rings.

“Love can unite. This is our story”, Dormer wrote beneath the video.

In the form of a visual essay, Dormer and his Sydney-based model boyfriend re-enact a spontaneous road-trip to Byron Bay and showcase the following poem.

“Three years ago we were just mates leaving on a road trip.
Camping alone on a beach under the stars, we fell in love.

It was a long road before I was ready to tell everyone about us,
but I’m glad I did because we’re so happy now.

Earlier this year we travelled overseas.
Once again alone on a beach,
we asked each other an important question…
we both answered yes.

We were going to keep this little secret to ourselves.
but love is better when shared.

If you celebrate love,
we thank you”.

Dormer has since confessed that the two became engaged earlier this year, but kept it secret, however, in light of the Marriage Equality Survey, they felt the need to share to encourage people to support their relationship.

The two originally met at a party shortly after Dormer won Big Brother in 2013. Having been open about his bisexuality, Dormer only revealed he was in a relationship with Toweel late last year after being anxious of the backlash he would receive.

But was pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction they’ve experienced since revealing their relationship. “We’re really thrilled that people have embraced our engagement news!” he told the Daily Mail Australia. Congrats to the gorgeous couple and we can’t wait to see the wedding!
