“Find the one you love and always remember why you fell in love with that person to begin with.”
This is Lee’s most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship; one which she has built with her new hubby, John.
After meeting on the internet, the newlyweds hit it off right away.
John knew that he wanted an extremely romantic proposal. He took Lee on a picnic at the beautiful Melbourne Botanical Gardens and popped the question in the same place where they first kissed.
With a love for classic movies, this couple immediately knew the theme of their wedding – Old Hollywood. The Theatre Room at Merribee Mansion was perfect for their sophisticated, vintage theme.
The elegant shades of pink and purple lighting up the walls went perfectly with the old black and white movies they had set up during the reception.
For the ceremony, Lee wore a beautiful soft and romantic ivory dress with a beaded lace sweetheart neckline.
She then changed her dress and wore a vintage lace down with a stunning low back and capped sleeves – perfect for the Old Hollywood theme.
The gorgeous DIY elements also gave their dream wedding a personal touch.
“We pretty much worked off an empty canvas and styled it with thing and colours we both love. From flowers to art-deco styled vases, candleholders, lighting and ceiling to floor projections,” Lee told us.
“We had wonderful suppliers and family who cared about our vision and helped pull everything together.”
