When two hearts that have quietly synced for years finally say “I do,” sparks fly and not the ordinary kind. Cherie Uzan and Luke Cathcart’s Melbourne wedding was pure passion, laughter, and burgundy-drenched romance brought to life. Planned by Wedded Wonderland Partner, the exceptional Alysia Bridger Events, this celebration was more than a wedding; it was a story unfolding in fruit, florals, candlelight, and cinematic moments that made every guest swoon.
Cherie and Luke first crossed paths in 2019, Cherie is the owner of The Valley Estate, a Wedded Wonderland Venue Partner, while Luke is the General Manager of the same.
Cherie remembers, “From the very start, we shared a remarkable synergy, effortless, intuitive, yet entirely professional. Then, in 2022, life shifted for us both. That familiar bond began to evolve, into something deeper, something unexpected, yet undeniably right.” By the time Luke proposed, their love had matured into a quiet, rich, and fated connection. “Luke had lovingly included my daughter, Eva, in the proposal,” Cherie recalls. “Walking into our lounge transformed with flowers and flickering candles, it was magical. I was completely taken by surprise and overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of it all.”
The couple’s wedding day was a masterclass in romance. Their ceremony took place at Reine et La Rue in Melbourne, a space that felt less like a venue and more like a cathedral for love. “We longed for something intimate yet breathtaking, with architecture that could stand as a character in its own right,” Cherie says. Beneath soaring neo-Gothic arches, they exchanged vows that felt timeless, each word echoing against history-rich walls.
Their reception followed at Grossi Florentino’s Mural Room, the very place of one of their first dinner dates. Cherie reflects, “To celebrate our marriage in that same space felt like coming full circle. The room itself is steeped in artistry and romance, it becomes part of the story, wrapping each of our guests in its history and undeniable charm.”
A Love Story Written in Burgundy
Every detail was curated with intention. Burgundy became their anchor color, steeped in passion and history, reflected in flowers, fruits, and seasonal décor that created a feast for the eyes as well as the soul. Cherie’s couture gown by J’Aton was the epitome of luxury and artistry, dramatic yet refined, while Luke’s tailored Arthur Galan tuxedo exuded effortless sophistication. “There was never really an approach to planning, it all unfolded naturally, and with a touch of serendipity,”
Cherie says. “Alysia Bridger Events was with us every step of the way, and it felt as though the universe had already decided she would be by my side. She is truly incredible.”
Every unforgettable wedding needs a magician, and Alysia Bridger Events is just that. From sourcing silver heirlooms with the couple to coordinating global florals, her team ensured that each piece of Cherie and Luke’s vision became a living, breathing reality. The day was documented beautifully by Andy Zheng of Evernew Studios, capturing glances, laughter, and moments so intimate they feel almost tangible.
From the first glance to the final dance, Cherie & Luke’s wedding was timeless, passionate, and utterly unforgettable. It reminds us that weddings aren’t just about events, they’re about love stories you live and feel in every moment.
