Alin and Hind’s Extravagant Melbourne Wedding

Alin and Hind met at a Wedding (we love that!) and after being together for 18 months, Alin knew she was the one. In 2019 Alin proposed to Hind in the city of love, Paris. After two years of postponements (thanks Covid) the Couple were finally able to get Wedded and celebrate their love.

The Groom, Alin is one of Australia’s leading Wedding Dress designers so we just had to find out what it was like designing his Brides Wedding Dresses (exceeding every expectation of course! The embellishment! WOW!)

What was the most memorable moment of your Wedding Day?

This was the reveal of our Wedding reception styled by Diane Khoury Weddings & Events. We had so much faith and trust in Diane’s work that we specifically asked not to see anything until the final day in the final hour. When she walked us into the venue with our eyes closed, at that moment, we were overwhelmed with emotions by the Wonderland she had transformed our venue into.

As a designer, what was it like designing your Bride’s wedding dresses?

I really wanted Hind to have a very different gown for the ceremony, a gown that was truly unique reflecting my work as a designer, and of course my beautiful wife Hind! The first gown was completely beaded with Swarovski crystals and pearls on the bodice and tulle ruffles paneling placed at an angle to elongate Hinds figure. This gown consumed 200,000 pearls and crystals, it took 1800 hours of hand sewing and beading to result in this haute couture piece.

Hind’s second gown was a traditional ball gown in nude with white and silver beading consisting of pearls and crystals beaded in a 3D technique for stop beading with white beads and sequins, we created a vine-like pattern coming down from the bodice and going up from the hem.

What was the most unique part of your Wedding?

The most unique part of the Wedding, I’d say, was the design of our reception working so well with our theme, and of course Hind’s dress! When we sent inspiration images to Diane, we really sat and thought about a brief that was just so different and unexpected for Melbourne.

Do you have any advice for future Couples planning their Wedding in managing Covid?

My advice to couples planning their wedding during Covid would be to stay calm and patient and just remember that love is the most important thing. It’s going to be a long lead up and having the best support system around you definitely helps.

We can feel all of the love and emotions through these pictures Fairies, scroll down to take a closer look!
