High school sweet-hearts Kaitlin and Reece journey to their stunning wedding began in 2013 when Reece planned a surprise getaway to Hamilton island. After a private helicopter ride to Whitehaven Beach from the island, where they enjoyed an intimate picnic and a stroll along the picturesque beach Reece decided it was the perfect time to pop the question!
Kaitlin and Reece’s wedding was a celebration of their high school sweetheart love story, surrounded by their loved ones who’ve watched them grow up together. Their special day was held at Villa Botanica, a dreamy venue perched on the edge of the Coral Sea in the glorious Whitsundays,with divine gardens and architecture; the perfect venue for a destination wedding in Australia.
“We were fortunate enough to have our loved ones travel with us to the beautiful Whitsundays where we all enjoyed the stunning scenery and relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. For the first time ever, we brought all of our families together, many members having never met before,” the couple told Wedded Wonderland.
Reflecting back on their special day, some of the most memorable moments included reading their vows to each other, listening to speeches written for them by their loved ones and releasing a floating lantern in memory of loved ones they had lost, then having the Groom’s family spontaneously perform the Hargan War Cry as part of the tribute.
