A Picturesque New Zealand Wedding

A Picturesque New Zealand Wedding

Ian spent three years trying to get Karen to go on a date with him, and on a fateful day in 2013, he finally achieved his goal; the pair hasn’t looked back since!

Karen and Ian’s Destination Wedding took place in Queenstown, New Zealand. The three-day celebration included a welcome party at a private lakeside house, a garden ceremony and estate reception, and a sunset cruise along Lake Wakatipu on an iconic century-old steamship.

“It truly felt we were on holidays with our closest friends and family – just so much fun! Best three days of our lives! I will always cherish and remember it for the rest of my life!”

Another highlight from Karen’s wedding-planning experience, was travelling to Paris from Australia, with her designer and friend Patricia Santos, to handpick the laces and fabric used for her veil and dress. She described it as a very “special feeling” – we love this idea, Fairies!

The wedding followed different hues of green, white and a touch of blush. Florals were carefully selected, and varied between orchids, white and blush roses, anthuriums, hydrangeas and gypsophilas.

Advice from the bride: “We had a bit of a hiccup with hair and make-up. I decided to fly both my hair and make up artists from the Philippines to New Zealand. A day before the wedding I get a call that they couldn’t board their flight as they had the wrong visa. That left me feeling a bit stressed and overwhelmed! I ended up doing my own make up on the day and so if I could change anything, it would be to book hair and make up locally and just do a look test prior to the big day.”
