Almost nine years ago the lovely Ellie and Michael had a chance meeting thanks to mutual friends, and soon after became inseparable. What we would call a perfect pair.
Michael’s proposal was truly romantic. Away on a ski holiday, he had organised a picnic in the snow. “An early surprise for my birthday I was told”, explains Ellie. “When we had made a snowman, Michael told me he wanted to get a photo of the both of us. As I was fixing my beanie and admiring our little snowman, I turn around to Michael on one knee in the snow looking up at me…he caught me completely off guard”.
Their wedding was the perfect blend of sophistication and glamour, with a hint of romance. Held at the spectacular InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort in Queensland, the wedding was styled to perfection with all white flowers and lush greenery.
“There was something incredibly special about InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort; it was perfect for a wedding. Most of our guests travelled quite a distance to be with us on the day and they all ended up making a reservation at the resort and staying a few extra days – for us, it was the perfect mix of being close to home but feeling like an exotic getaway!”
Their ceremony was held in the resort’s private Chapel, a magnificent modern space with gorgeous high ceilings and all-glass walls, allowing the lush tropical gardens, and picturesque landscape to act as their backdrop.
“The day we went to the InterContinental to have a look, we saw the Chapel and we both knew straight away that is where we needed to get married we never looked at any other places after that”.
Their reception was simple yet extravagant. A massive wall covered in white roses enhanced the bridal table and the high ceiling decorated with rows and rows of fairy lights were truly magical. “We could not have done it all without David Carlo, our wedding planner; he was incredible from the first meeting. To be honest it’s quite sad now not to have his lovely emails come through or seeing his face on a regular basis!”
And the most memorable moment?
“Our first dance was incredible. I forgot anyone else was in the room and it felt like the first time I had got to spend time with my new husband the entire day, there was not one dry eye in the room.”
How very sweet! Hope you’re inspired Fairies.
