As restrictions eased, they took the plunge, moving in together in London. It was in their cozy kitchen while preparing dinner that Andi proposed, a moment that initially felt like a jest, considering their youth. However, it soon made perfect sense. Their journey saw a spiritual union in 2021, followed by a legal marriage in London in November 2022, surrounded by loved ones. The last piece of their matrimonial puzzle took shape in Bali, where they poured their hearts and souls into creating an unforgettable celebration that would forever mark their extraordinary love story.
Planning The Wedding
Their grand celebration, the third chapter of their wedding journey in beautiful Bali, was nothing short of magical, uniting loved ones from all corners of the globe, spanning Europe, America, and Australia. What stood out as their favorite element of the wedding was the joy of bringing friends and family together from near and far, creating a memorable holiday experience alongside their wedding festivities.
The overarching theme of their day drew inspiration from the elegant simplicity of a classic white wedding, a choice influenced by the exquisite garden surroundings and the delicate notes of Jo Malone’s peony and blush perfume, a fragrance close to the bride’s heart and her husband’s favorite. Thanks to the artistry of Aisle Project, their outdoor garden reception beautifully encapsulated the essence of this cherished theme, filling the air with sweet fragrances that harmonized seamlessly with the lush garden setting.
The Venue
Their Bali wedding unfolded at the enchanting Ayana Resort, overlooking the picturesque Uluwatu beach, a venue that held special significance as it embodied their shared love for sunsets. Back in London, they cherished their sunset-watching tradition from their southwest-facing apartment, especially during the long summer evenings.
What captivated them most about the venue was its breathtaking cliff top garden, offering an unobstructed view of Kubu beach, a natural and lush setting that perfectly mirrored the theme they envisioned for their wedding. The vastness of the resort, akin to a seaside town on its own, was an added bonus, allowing their friends and family to relish their own experiences while staying in close proximity to the couple, particularly since most were experiencing Indonesia for the first time.
The Couples’ Favorite Moments
The first dance was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Surprisingly, neither of them had ever been known to bust a move, and the thought of dancing in public was completely foreign to them, even at other people’s weddings. In a bid to avoid any potential embarrassment, they decided to embark on a few slow dancing lessons, and to their surprise, it turned out to be a blast, marking one of the most enjoyable aspects of their wedding preparations.
As the final dance sessions approached, their instructor suggested they incorporate a lift and a twirl into their routine, a daring proposition for two self-professed rookie dancers. Yet, just moments before the actual “first dance” at their reception, they threw caution to the wind and went for it. The result? Amazing photos, but let’s just say they were both working up quite a sweat. Since that memorable reception, they’ve become more at ease dancing in public and jump at every chance they get to showcase their newfound skills.
