With a candles and floral utopia set up, Stephen proposed to Marina in a beautiful villa at the Crown. As Marina walked through the stunning floral arch that accented the hallway, little did she know she’d be engaged when she walked back through it.
Reflecting on the proposal, Marina said, “I wasn’t expecting it and the feeling was so overwhelming in the most amazing way. He also custom-designed my ring, so when I saw three beautiful diamonds, I immediately fell in love with the ring!”
Soon it was time to start planning the wedding and Stephen was just as excited to get down to the details, something which was a happy surprised for Marina. “My husband actually wanted to get involved in the styling and decorating of the reception, which I really enjoyed.”
The big day brought their “vision to life.” We’re talking a romantic ambience filled with an abundance of candles and Marina’s favourite flowers – roses and orchids – making the most beautiful floralscape. As self-confessed “alcohol professionals,” Marina and Stephen turned their favourite drinks into wedding favours. Gorgeous round pendants, served as lighting, with gold cutlery and linear detailing making the perfect touches on the bridal table.
On remembering the funniest part of the night, Marina recalled, “My cute 80-year-old grandmothers making their grand entrance with their walking sticks and when Steve’s dad accidentally said ‘Stefan’ instead of ‘Stephen’ in his speech!”
The most unique part of the wedding was definitely Greek dancing with a bouzouki player and Lebanese drums.
“We wanted to get out all of the formalities out of the way so we could just dance for the rest of the night!”
