Grant’s proposal could not have gone less to plan! Whilst holidaying in Europe, the couple started the day with a surprise trip to Venice. Leah and Grant were walking to their dinner reservation and Leah noticed that Grant was acting strange. He was asking people to take photos of them, which was so out of his character. Leah told him that she was starving and they were going to miss out on the reservation but, little did she know that Grant wanted to propose to her then and there, ruining this plan.
Following dinner, the couple stopped on the ‘Bridge of Sighs’ and Grant asked Leah to turn around so he could take a photo of her. Grant grabbed her hand as she was turning around and went down on one knee, popping the question – the perfect ending to their trip!
The couple decided to tie the knot in the city of love and kicked off their wedding celebrations with a Welcome Picnic with all their guests in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower. The theme of the wedding was Parisian elegance featuring subtle touches of gold and lush in the details.
Leah walked down the aisle with her mum in one hand and her dad in the other which made the moment even more emotional and special for the bride.
Grant and Leah had originally planned an outdoor lounge cocktail party under chandelier-filled trees, but due to rain, the couple had to change every element of their wedding. However, it was still absolutely breathtaking.
From the moment the couple started planning their wedding they knew two things; that it would be held in a Château in Paris and that their wedding would be the furthest thing from a traditional wedding! The couple wanted to celebrate their love with a beautiful, fun-filled dinner part with good food and of course Paris’ finest wine.
“There was no bridal table and no speeches, and it could not have been more perfect for us,” explains the bride.
The couple added their personalised monogram onto their wedding favours. Hotel type slippers were given out to the wedding guests so everyone could slip into something more comfortable and dance all night long. They also had personalised door hangers to put on all their guests hotel doors so they could sleep in the next morning!
“Halfway through the wedding, Grant and I took a moment to look around the room at the most important people in our lives who had made so much effort to be there for us. The amount of love and happiness in that room was something we will remember forever” describes Leah.
Congratulations to Grant and Leah!
