Instagram is filled with perfectly filtered photos of bloggers, models and celebrities, but when fitness model, Anna Victoria shared a pre-Wedding selfie with her 1 million followers, she made a powerful statement about the reality of social media.
It started when Anna Victoria revealed on Snapchat that although she looks perfectly trim and toned in her photos, she doesn’t look that way 24/7. A fan commented suggesting that she post a photo on her Instagram showing the world what she means.
It was a challenge that Anna Victoria gladly accepted.
On her Instagram, Anna Victoria posted a flawless selfie of her the day before her Wedding , complete with a six-pack, defined thighs, perky cleavage and slim arms; however, the photo she posted beside this image is what has everyone talking.
Next to the original pic, Anna Victoria posted a shot of her which was taken just two-minutes after the first shot. She is sitting down, preparing for her Big Day and showing off some seriously normal tummy rolls.
In an attempt to show that sometimes photos are all about the right angles, lighting and pose, Anna Victoria captioned the two images by saying, “Picture on the left was taken one day before the wedding and the picture on the right was taken… 2 minutes after! Someone recently said to me that we all have our good angles and we all have our bad angles, so why do we let our bad angles carry so much more weight than our good angles? If you focus on how bad you look in the bad angles, at least focus on how good you look in the good ones too!!”
In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Anna Victoria elaborated on the viral post, “”I knew that my wedding body was in the best shape I had ever been in,” she said. “I wanted to further reiterate that when you sit down, it’s normal to have rolls, even if you have a very low body fat percentage. I wanted to show that it’s OK for your body to look different from various angles. Everyone has bad angles, but that’s not what defines us.”
