You might have attended a few over-the-top weddings in your time (or even thrown one!), but believe us – none of them have anything on the marriage of Feiping Chang and Lincoln Lin.
The Hong Kong It Girl and fashionista wed her financier fiancé in a three-day extravaganza last month in Capri that’s estimated to have cost millions.
The full details have just emerged courtesy of Hong Kong Tatler, and we don’t think the word ‘extraordinary’ does them justice.
Fei glided down the aisle in the largest custom-made wedding dress that designer Giambattista Valli has ever made, with the bride working closely with the Parisian to recreate her dream.
With layers upon layers of tulle and an extravagant train, the garment resembled a cloud of the purest white, making the bride seemingly heaven sent.
‘For as long as I can remember, I always knew when the day came I would want Giamba to make my dress, because he really makes very dreamlike creations that are just above and beyond,’ Fei told Tatler. ‘The final dress definitely exceeded my wildest expectations.’
Continuing the theme of firsts, the couple wed at the cliff top Villa Lysis in Capri, Italy. Fei and Lincoln are the only pair to have done so, which isn’t a surprise as the requirements included refurbishing the chateau and gaining permission from the government.
The couple went one step further by building a bridge (yes, a BRIDGE) to link the grounds of the villa to the rooftop where they exchanged vows.
They also changed the local street and restaurant signs to ‘Fei Lincoln’, used 15kgs of strawberries to create the wedding cake, and gave each of the 150 guests a wicker bag embroidered with their name and filled with treats.
The three-day rendezvous began with a welcome dinner at the internationally renowned restaurant Da Paolino, with the bride wearing a designer dress covered in hand drawn lemons to match the eatery’s surroundings.
Day two, on the other hand, saw guests indulge in an all-day brunch at La Conca del Sogno, Fei’s favourite beach club, with the bride wearing a Dolce and Gabbana dress that inspired the sumptuous table settings.
The couple met at a party thrown by billionaire and entrepreneur Ivan Pun in Burma, while Lincoln proposed in New Zealand by recreating the boating scene from Fei’s favourite film The Notebook.
