Prince Phillip proposed to then-Princes Elizabeth with a three-carat diamond, surrounded by five smaller diamonds on each side. The Prince designed the ring himself and the stones were collected from a tiara that belonged to the Prince’s mother, Princess Alice. The ring still remains classic and timeless up to this day.

Prince Charles proposed to Diana with a sapphire engagement ring. This ring is now being worn by Duchess of Kate and is referred to as the “Commoner’s Sapphire.” The blue sapphire has inspired brides all over the world.

The ring was created by royal jeweler Garrard and Co LTD and the ring features 14 solitaire diamonds which surround a Sri Lankan 12-carat oval faceted blue Ceylon sapphire. It is set in 18 karat white gold
