4 THINGS YOU’RE NEVER ALLOWED TO ASK YOUR BRIDESMAIDS TO DO

When you’re planning your Wedding, it’s only natural for Brides to want everything to be perfect. Unfortunately, there are some things that a Bride can’t and shouldn’t try and control and that’s where this article comes in.

Bridesmaids have a number of tasks to help the Bride out with, from planning the Hen’s Night, to joining her on appointments with suppliers, but there are some things a Bride should never ask her ‘Maids to do and here are the four biggest.

1. Grow/Cut/Dye Her Hair

We’ve heard horror stories of Brides who’ve pushed the Bridesmaids to cut their hair, so they’re the only one in the Bridal party with Rapunzel locks. We’ve also seen emails from Brides telling the Bridesmaids that to be part of the Bridal party, they need promise to grow their hair a certain length, so that the hair stylists can give them matching up-dos. Brides, we give you permission to choose the Bridesmaids’ hair styling on the Big Day, but requesting they grow/cut/dye their hair in the lead up is a big no-no.

2. Lose Weight

This is one topic that will always lead to drama. It doesn’t matter what size your Bridesmaid is, you should never tell her to lose weight just so she looks good for your Wedding.

3. Spend a Truckload of Cash

Bridesmaids have budgets, so expecting them to spend a heap of cash for the Wedding, is unreasonable. Brides: have a chat with your ‘Maids and make sure you find out exactly what sort of budget they can work with.

4. Abstain

Yep, you read that right. Brides, you can’t ask your best girls to avoid getting pregnant for your Big Day. It really doesn’t matter is your Bridesmaid walks down the aisle eight month’s pregnant and we promise that if you play it cool, you’ll be dubbed ‘the best aunty ever’ when the little bundle of joy arrives.
