I cannot recommend Moran of Saxymozz more. He added so much atmosphere to our Celebrate Conference for event industry vendors. He played over lunch as well as leading a vibrant dance moment for attendees - everyone was blown away and absolutely loved his performance. It added so much vibe and atmosphere to the whole event. Absolutely incredible. Moran is amazing on the sax, he didn’t make it about him, he chose the perfect moments to start playing, his song choices were perfect, he felt the energy of the crowd and kept the dancefloor packed all night. He nailed the brief. Even took some AMAZING videos for us, so clear and HD. We didn’t organise a videographer, and Morans content was great, we didn’t need a videographer after all! Kimberly was soooo amazing on the violin, their talent as a couple is insane. Kimberly got straight into it, she had the perfect pre ceremony songs, the guests loved watching her, she is so angelic when she plays. The songs she was playing were perfect and the way she played along was amazing. Moran and Kimberley both arrived early, set themselves up and got straight to business, they were so self sufficient and absolute professionals. We couldn’t be happier. The music I play for you would always prioritise your must-plays and preferred genres, not my personal style per se. I do personally like house music & jazz, though it's definitely not what I play for couples most of the time. Gauging how crowds receive top songs across most genres at hundreds of weddings/events has allowed us to be open format, which is advantageous if you/your guests love a variety of genres. For guests who don't want to dance no matter what, roving Sax + Violin is faultless.
DJ Sax together eliminates the risk of incompatibility between separate DJ & sax players (where not all DJs are musicians and not all sax players understand DJ flow). Understanding both worlds provides you with an optimal live entertainment experience.
I am willing to travel interstate to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide for sax only performances, granted you find a local DJ.
Style-wise, I spend an extra hour during setup (2 hours total) to assess your venue's styling on the day and make considered visual choices to optimise for a cohesive aesthetic, balancing peak energy with elegance for versatile appeal among guests. Beyond musical taste, a taste for the aesthetic.
Yes, we alternate between mixing during transitions and performing live during choruses to provide an engaging dancefloor throughout. Beyond this core requirement, we mix out at the end of a chorus and into the buildup of the next song’s chorus/drop. Only under exceptional circumstances do we play from the start to the end of a song, because each second of dead air can dissolve the dancefloor. Each dancefloor song is curated live based on what's well received in the moment.

The main style unsuitable with sax is rap, as most rap melodies are monotone. Repeating the same note in different rhythms is not mesmerising per se, so I'd focus more on the decks during rap if you prefer it. On the decks, I’m willing to source a song request, if it’s good. If a DJ can’t perform good songs live, the least they can do is press play on them. Imagine ego DJs who refuse to press play on a good song request simply ‘because they don’t have the track’ in 2026. Imagine. If only.
