By her account, they counted to three at dinner and flipped two pictures over. Same ring on both. No, JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are not engaged, and they are not married.

Siwa told the story to People at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles on 21 October 2026. Neither of them has announced an engagement since.
Her own words are why the internet keeps asking. "One, two, three. And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google!"
She had already told her mother, Jessalyn, what she wanted, Just Jared reported. "I want him to design it completely. I want it to be completely his design."
She had also found a Google photo of her dream ring. So at dinner, she asked Hughes what he thought her perfect ring looked like.
They agreed to reveal their picks at the same moment, neither knowing what the other had chosen.
All we know of his pick comes from her. IBTimes UK carried her description of the picture, "a blue emerald shape", and she put the odds of a match at "so slim".
Same photo, she says, chosen separately.
That is all that is public: a blue stone in an emerald shape. Nobody has named the stone, the maker, the metal or the carat weight, and neither of them has said a ring was bought.
The shape, at least, has a fixed meaning. GIA describes the emerald cut as "a rectangular shape with beveled corners and concentric rows of facets", with long facets that leave inclusions "more easily visible".
She would not be the first with blue on that finger. Carly Rae Jepsen wears a deep blue stone on rose gold, one of the celebrity engagement rings that rewrote the rules.
Then she went looking. On her Snapchat stories, Goss.ie reported on 29 October, Siwa browsed Tiffany & Co. engagement rings and tried on one with "a square blue stone".
She also shared an aquamarine engagement ring with the caption "Wait I think this is the one."
Aquamarine or sapphire? She hasn't named the stone in the dinner photo. If it is sapphire, GIA links it with "sincerity, truth and faithfulness" and ranks it 9 for hardness, "able to resist scratching and abrasions".
Blue, again. Still no proposal.
There is already a ring on her hand, and it came from Hughes.
On a TikTok live on 5 January 2026, E! News reported via the Daily Mail, she called it a "gorgeous little Cartier ring". Now, she said, "it doesn't leave my finger."

E! said it appears to be from Cartier's LOVE line; her exact model is not public. The LOVE collection is known for a motif that "dares to leave its screws visible".
It was a Christmas present. "He got me this ring for Christmas last year," she told E! News at the Dancers Against Cancer Gala of the Stars on 22 October.
Then came the confession: "sometimes I'll switch it to my other hand just see what it feels like."
Hughes had no idea. "I didn't know she did that, but now I do," he told E!. His verdict: "It's kind of cute."
Sometimes she forgets she has moved it. "Oh crap, it's been there too long," she said. "Someone's going to get a photo or something."
They met as housemates on Celebrity Big Brother UK in April 2025, Hughes already known from Love Island. She is 23. He is 33.
She confirmed the romance publicly that June, and they marked their first anniversary on 27 May 2026 with Instagram tributes, Yahoo reports.
The engagement talk started early. In September 2025, his father, Paul, told the Daily Mail, as Attitude reported: "It wouldn't surprise us if they got married before Christmas."
By December, Hughes had ruled out a Christmas morning proposal. "You always get people who get engaged on Christmas morning," he said in a joint interview with The Sun, reported by PinkNews.
That Christmas brought a Cartier ring instead.
When Siwa floated proposing herself in the same interview, he was blunt: "I don't agree with it." Being proposed to, he said, would make him "really uncomfortable".
She would only do it if he made her wait seven years. She had a date ready anyway. "Just so you know on May 27, 2032, I will be down on one knee. I will not wait one extra day."
That is their anniversary, seven years on. Treat it as talk until either of them says otherwise.
Blue has been on her mind a while. In September 2025 she told The Sun she wants a "baby-blue" wedding scheme.
There was a family wedding, but it was her brother's. "Of course, it gave me the wedding vibes," she told People at the Snappy Awards in April.
Then she handed it over: "marriage is, of course, in Chris' hands, and so when he feels the time is right, I'll be ready. Maybe. I'm just kidding."
Six months later came the matching photo, and the searches followed.
Hughes answered that one himself. "Yeah, one day, of course," he told E! News. "I think that's the goal for anyone in life. That's all part of life; family, weddings, all that kind of thing." Then he added: "One step at a time."
Asked on the carpet at the Industry Dance Awards whether a wedding was next, Siwa said: "You bug him tomorrow about it." At the gala she added, "We're in a very happy phase of life right now."
She has written the brief and he has picked the photo. Nobody has named a real date. Hers, 2032, was a joke with a deadline.
Choosing the ring took them a count of three. If your own proposal is closer than 2032, the card below is for you.
Until then, it is still a photo from Google.
