Andrew Shue asked the question in the spring, then kept it to himself for months. On 21 October he told People he is engaged to Marilee Fiebig, an immigration attorney.

They got engaged in the spring after more than three years of dating.
His summary was short: "I don't know how it happened, but there's a happy ending."
And yes, there's a twist. Fiebig's former husband, TJ Holmes, married Shue's former wife, Amy Robach, on 19 September in Arkansas.
Robach and Holmes co-hosted ABC's *GMA3* until their relationship made headlines in November 2022. Both couples had already separated by then, and both later divorced.
Hoping for a ring photo? Neither couple has shared wedding or ring pictures so far.
Shue, 59, is the *Melrose Place* alum who has spent recent years on The Forum, a grassroots civic project.
He and Fiebig grew close first as friends. In his words, they got to know each other "in a time where we both needed a friend."
He was candid about the marriage that ended, too: "I had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me and in not understanding myself well enough."
His best line: "I think the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving."
"We're very grateful and hopeful," he said, putting the way they met down to "freak luck".
He hasn't said where he asked.
Fiebig, 49, is an immigration attorney. She married Holmes in Memphis on 1 March 2010, and they share a daughter. They separated in August 2022.
Her Instagram post of 6 December 2024 is from Grassroot Soccer's World AIDS Day Gala in New York, their first public appearance together. Her caption: "Thanks to @grassrootsoccer for an incredible evening at their 2024 World AIDS Day Gala in NYC this past week."
Robach, 53, and Holmes, 49, married privately in Washington County, Arkansas, on 19 September, according to the licence People obtained. They had applied the day before.
The place meant something to Holmes, who was born in West Memphis and went to the University of Arkansas.
The wedding stayed private for more than three weeks, until the licence was registered with the county clerk on 13 October.
They had hinted at something personal. On *Bill and Giuliana: The Podcast* in May, Holmes said: "There is a way we want to get married that we haven't revealed necessarily, but it would be very special to us."
Robach gave the numbers on the same show: "This will be our third marriage, both of us."
Back in February 2024, she had floated another plan on their own podcast: "Justice of the peace. Vegas."
Arkansas won.
The venue, guest list and dress haven't been made public.
Shue's news landed eight days after the Arkansas licence was registered. Even People, which carried both exclusives, called the wedding "an added surprise".
The dates, side by side:
August 2022: Holmes and Fiebig separate.
November 2022: Robach and Holmes's relationship makes headlines.
December 2023: Sources tell People that Shue and Fiebig are dating.
December 2024: Shue and Fiebig make their first public appearance, in New York.
October 2025: Robach and Holmes announce their engagement on their podcast.
Spring 2026: Shue and Fiebig get engaged.
18 September 2026: Robach and Holmes apply for a marriage licence.
19 September 2026: Robach and Holmes marry in Arkansas.
13 October 2026: The licence is registered, and the wedding becomes news.
21 October 2026: Shue tells People he is engaged.
Read in order, the dates answer the obvious question. A spring proposal can't be a reply to a September wedding.
Shue and Fiebig haven't named a place or a date.
Whenever they do, the venue is the first call. Then come the flights and rooms for everyone travelling in.
Exes in the wedding news is a theme this month: Tobey Maguire officiated Jennifer Meyer's wedding on Lanai. More in our celebrity weddings coverage.
One wedding down. The next one has no date yet.
