This Wedding’s Menu Included Chicken And Waffles, Burgers And Fries!

Paiton and C.J.’s wedding day was unique for many different reasons, particularly due to their chosen menu & sentimental meanings behind certain elements!

The wedding took place at the Ancient Spanish Monastery, creating a classic yet regal ambience for the ceremony and reception. Paiton’s father had passed away ten years prior, so in place of his physical presence, the bride replaced the face of a pocket-watch he used to carry with her favourite photo of him and some of his ashes. Following the wedding ceremony, a ladybug appeared on the bridal bouquet; a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. Her father was more than present in spirit that day, as Paiton walked down the aisle and shared her first dance with her mother.

Now, this part is our favourite, Fairies! Instead of typical wedding food, the couple wanted to incorporate their favourite foods in the menu. Cocktail hour consisted of a grazing table with hors d’oeuvres of grilled cheese & tomato soup shots, fried mac & cheese balls, gourmet mini pizzas, and soft pretzels & nacho cheese. Salad was skipped and the entree options were chicken & waffles, penne alla vodka, or burger & fries – YUM! To amplify the dining experience, there was also a station-style dessert room with a barista & coffee cart, a donut wall, a cookies & milk cart, a build-your-own crêpe station, and a chocolate fountain in addition to their 6-tiered funfetti with buttercream wedding cake.

A tip from the couple: “Try to stay true to yourself throughout the entire wedding planning process. It can be challenging not to get distracted or pressured by Pinterest, other brides, or your family & friends. Do what makes you happy! Customize your wedding to fit your needs and values. Change things up from the standard “norm”! Your wedding should ultimately be a reflection of you & your significant other as a couple. Have fun and enjoy every single moment!”
