Brisbane couple Annette and Nick were one of the many couples who had to cancel their wedding plans as a result of COVID-19. But, everything changed when these two lovebirds won a spectacular wedding giveaway…
Twenty-six wonderful wedding suppliers joined together to give away a wedding, to spread joy and let everyone know that love cannot be cancelled.
Here’s how it went down…
“We had hoped to get married earlier this year in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, but when COVID-19 restrictions kicked in, and our plans went on the back burner. Early in June, we received a call by Alysia Bridger Events, to say that we had been nominated for a competition and we had won. Little did we know that our amazing friend Bambi had seen that Alysia and 26 other exceptional suppliers had a competition running for 1 very lucky couple and the prize was to win a dream wedding. Annette and I were speechless. We couldn’t believe that this was even possible during this pandemic we are all living in.
How could so many businesses during this economic crisis be able to pull off something so special when they had all been through to much? Our big day snuck up quickly and there were still so many surprises that we didn’t know about…”

“Annette is a big royal fan and she couldn’t believe that Alysia had organised for a very special message from Paul Burrell, the late Princess Dianas Butler, to us. Alysia shared the message with Annette up in her room, and there were certainly lots of tears of joy and disbelief that Mr Burrell would send a wedding message to us.”
