Their Love Story

In a whirlwind of city lights and shared margaritas, the stars aligned for Sara Jane and Sam on a fateful night in Manhattan on September 12th, 2017. With the backdrop of a rooftop bar and a mutual love for margaritas, destiny played its hand, and by 4am, Sam’s phone number scribbled on a receipt marked the beginning of their journey.

Fast forward to December 23rd, 2021, atop the One Vanderbilt Tower, where Sam surprised Sara Jane with a proposal framed by the breathtaking Manhattan skyline. It was a full-circle moment, echoing the very views that had witnessed their first encounter. As they stood hand in hand, gazing over the city, the promise of a shared future unfolded.

The Venue

Nestled in 100 acres of wooded land, the Wadsworth Mansion, with its grand lawn and gardens, set the stage for their dream fall wedding. Its secluded yet regal ambiance, coupled with the vibrant foliage of New England, drew guests from 14 US states and 4 countries. The venue, a few hours from NYC, embraced their vision of accessibility and grandeur.

The Theme

Their wedding, a Black-Tie affair, was based on the theme Old World Meets New World. The Wadsworth Mansion, a historic gem with Gatsby-esque vibes, inspired their theme. Sara Jane and Sam, a modern NYC couple, found resonance in the venue’s timeless beauty and history, a perfect fusion of classic luxury and new-age aesthetics.

Unique Elements

As a former professional ballerina, Sara Jane infused the celebration with spectacle and surprises. From a champagne-pouring acrobat to live oyster shuckers and a choreographed first dance filled with spins and lifts, the night sparkled with entertainment. The champagne tower replaced the traditional cake, and a fusion of live saxophone and DJ set the atmosphere for the night.

Their attention to detail extended to vintage decor, including a vintage phone and typewriter, hand-made paper elements, and personalized touches like custom napkins featuring sketches of their beloved dogs. These minor yet heartfelt details wove a unique narrative into their celebration.

Sara Jane’s Gown

Sara Jane’s gown, a masterpiece by Berta from her 2022 Couture Collection, embodied her desire for uniqueness. With a square-neck mermaid silhouette, bustier boning, and a cathedral-length train, the champagne-colored, sparkly embellishments made her radiate like a diamond under the lights. It was a dress that encapsulated her vision perfectly.

Amidst a day filled with enchantment, one moment stood out—their final song. As Sara Jane and Sam ascended to the Juliette balcony overlooking the party below, it was a private moment of serenity amidst the celebration. Witnessing their loved ones dancing and cheering for their love, made them feel like a King and Queen—a memory etched forever in their hearts.
