All the Details of Nasiba and Zhang Da’s Wedding in Moscow
How They Met
Nasiba and Zhang Da’s story began in a typical classroom setting where they were mere classmates. Zhang Da, also known as Bahá, transferred to their group from the University of Minsk, and Nasiba wasn’t immediately smitten by his exuberant personality. Yet, fate had plans to bring them closer. Bahá’s unwavering persistence and the mesmerizing view of Moscow State University from his window caught Nasiba’s attention.
Their friendship blossomed over time, with video chats becoming a regular occurrence. Zhang Da would often ramble on about his life, and Nasiba found herself drawn into this whirlwind of chaos and adventure. As a girl from Dagestan, she found it all absurd initially. However, their friendship deepened during a trip to Minsk, where Nasiba discovered the beauty of Zhang Da’s world. It was here that their paths intertwined, leading them towards a romantic journey they couldn’t resist.
Returning home to Dagestan for the summer break, Nasiba initially hesitated to pursue a relationship with Zhang Da due to the potential reactions of her parents and relatives. However, love prevailed, and after three years of shared experiences, Zhang Da arrived with his parents to meet Nasiba’s family. It was in Dagestan that he proposed, seeking her father’s blessing to embark on their journey together.
Planning The Wedding
With the decision made to unite their lives in marriage, the couple faced the challenge of planning a wedding that honored their unique identities and aspirations. Nasiba, with her heart set on a wedding in Moscow, wished to veer away from traditional Caucasian norms and create an occasion that truly reflected their love story. The opportunity presented itself when they attended the grand opening of the Soluxe Hotel at the Chinese Business Center in Moscow.
Captivated by the venue’s charm, Nasiba casually mentioned her desire to have their wedding there. Little did she know that Zhang Da’s father would take the initiative to make it a reality. With multiple trips to Moscow and relentless efforts, he orchestrated the necessary arrangements to turn their dream into a tangible experience. And so, the Soluxe Hotel became the backdrop for their extraordinary wedding.
The Guest List
The couple’s plan was to keep the wedding intimate, inviting only their closest relatives to Moscow, while accommodating their dear friends and relatives from other cities in the luxurious five-star hotel. This allowed them to deviate from traditional norms and create a joyous celebration that perfectly suited their personalities. Their guest list represented a diverse geography, reflecting the global nature of their relationships. Friends and family from Russia, Belarus, China, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, England, and Iraq were invited to join in their celebration.
Although some guests faced visa constraints and couldn’t attend, the approximately 80 attendees experienced a week-long gathering filled with emotion, laughter, and shared experiences. The wedding surpassed all expectations and left lasting memories for everyone involved. Friends and relatives stayed together in the same hotel, bonding over breakfasts, spa experiences, and the joyous wedding festivities.
The Unique Wedding Details

Collaborating with the Celebrate It team and their talented decorator, Ilona, they infused the design with distinctive Chinese elements, incorporating vibrant red accents and intricate sun motifs. The challenge lay in effectively conveying their innovative ideas to their relatively conservative parents. However, Nasiba and Zhang Da managed to strike the perfect balance, creating an elegant yet personalized ambiance that resonated with their identities. Additionally, they paid homage to Nasiba’s Dagestani heritage with a spirited lezginka dance.
Bahá’s father hosted a delightful Chinese-style dinner, introducing Nasiba’s family to the flavors of traditional cuisine. It was a beautiful amalgamation of cultures, further exemplifying the union of two souls from different backgrounds. The entire event exuded pleasant excitement, emphasizing the importance of cherishing every moment rather than succumbing to overwhelming busyness.
