The wonderful world of wedding cakes is constantly creating new trends – the succulent cake, the marble cake, the naked cake, the smash cake, the stained-glass cake – the list is endless. But just when we thought we’ve seen them all enters the most delicate wedding cakes ever, the deckled-edge cake.
You may have heard the term deckled-edge tossed around with your stationer, since it’s the process of leaving the paper uncut. It’s been trending for wedding invitations for a while but it’s now entered the realm of wedding cakes and we couldn’t be happier.
Cake makers are using rough cut fondant layered on top of each other to create a ruffled effect or applying buttercream roughly and creating texture. And the results are simply…delicious.
Check out these deckled-edge wedding cakes.
