Jason and Sarah had been family friends since they were young teenagers, but it wasn’t until they were a little older that the romance sparked between them!
The proposal came during a romantic holiday in Cambodia after a long day trekking in the Jungle of the Ancient Ruins in Siem Reap, “We returned to our Resort & he had set up a romantic couples massage. We then left our room and he took me up white spiral stair case that was lit with candles, which led to an outside deck that over looked the resorts pool/garden area. There was a table set up for two with hundreds of candles and rose petals. We had dinner under the stars and if you can believe it I saw my first shooting star! At the end of the dinner took the ring out and asked me to marry him.” This sounds simply amazing!
Fast-forward to their picturesque wedding held at Pepper’s Creek, where they married in a beautiful sandstone chapel with the lush vineyard as their romantic backdrop. Reflecting on their sacred ceremony, Sarah told Wedded Wonderland, “The most heart-warming moment would have been when I got to the end of the aisle to meet Jason and he whispered into my ear how beautiful I looked.”
The ceremony was followed by an incredible reception at Peppers Creek Barrel Room, where the entire room screamed romance with fairy lights hanging from the ceiling and wooden beams, hundreds of candles and lush spring flowers and green foliage adorning the space. The backdrop for the bridal table featured a 5 metre wide stone fire place, enhanced with three large gold antique mirrors. “It felt like we were in the French/ European Countryside, which is exactly the feel I wanted,” Sarah told Wedded Wonderland.
Although both Sarah and Jason come from large Portuguese families, they however wanted their special day to be romantic and intimate so chose to only invite their closest family and friends. “Because it was so intimate, we could really feel the love in the room and the entire day,” the couple told Wedded Wonderland.
