Omar Marmoush and Jilan Al-Jabbas have officially given us another reason to romanticize Lake Como.
The Manchester City star and Egyptian influencer and model have shared glimpses of their Italian wedding celebration at Villa d’Este, where manicured gardens, historic architecture and vintage details created the kind of setting that makes a wedding feel almost fictional. The couple had already privately married in Egypt earlier this year, making their Lake Como celebration a second chapter rather than a first walk down the aisle.
And if the first wedding was intimate, this one was decidedly cinematic.

The setting does much of the storytelling here. Villa d’Este in Cernobbio is a historic 16th-century residence turned luxury hotel, sitting directly on Lake Como and known for its formal Italian gardens. Its Mosaic Garden, with its ornate architecture and meticulously landscaped surroundings, provided the backdrop for the couple's celebration.
In the photographs, Jilan and Marmoush walk through gravel paths framed by manicured hedges and towering cypress trees, with the villa's grand architecture appearing behind them. One particularly dreamy detail is a vintage-style open carriage, complete with a chauffeur in a traditional black uniform and top hat.
It is less "footballer's wedding" and more Italian aristocratic fantasy, which feels like exactly the right choice for Lake Como.

Jilan leaned into the setting with a fitted white lace gown featuring a sculpted bodice and dramatic tiered mermaid skirt. The intricate lace gave the look a vintage romance, while the fitted silhouette kept it contemporary.
She paired the gown with a short floral lace veil or headpiece, worn over her long, loose hair, creating a bridal look that felt distinctly European without becoming overly traditional.
The result was beautifully suited to Villa d'Este. Rather than competing with the setting, the dress seemed to belong to it.

For his Italian celebration, Marmoush skipped the conventional black tuxedo in favour of an ivory double-breasted suit with an open-collar white shirt.
The relaxed tailoring brought a modern touch to the otherwise historic surroundings, while an oversized floral boutonnière added a romantic finish. Against the gardens and stone architecture, the ivory palette made the couple's portraits feel almost like a luxury fashion campaign.
Together, their looks created a particularly cohesive wedding aesthetic without appearing overly coordinated.

There is a reason Lake Como remains one of the most coveted destinations for weddings. The landscape already provides much of what couples spend months trying to create through décor: historic villas, dramatic gardens, mountains, water and an atmosphere that feels inherently romantic.

Marmoush and Jilan's celebration is a perfect example. There was no need to force an elaborate Italian theme because the location already supplied the mood. The lace, ivory tailoring, vintage carriage and formal gardens simply enhanced what was already there.

Marmoush and Jilan's Lake Como wedding may have been their second celebration, but visually, it feels like a story all its own.
Their Egyptian ceremony marked the marriage privately, while Italy gave them the chance to celebrate surrounded by the romance of one of the world's most iconic wedding destinations.
And really, if you're going to have a second wedding celebration, Villa d'Este on Lake Como is a pretty convincing place to do it.
