We’ve all suspected it, but now research has found that parents actually do tend to favour one child over their siblings.
Sociologist, Katherine Conger conducted surveys with almost 400 pairs of siblings to track the differences in the way their parents treated them.
The study found that the first born children were more likely to be preferred, while their younger brothers and sisters were treated more harshly.
The study then spoke to the parents and found that a huge 70% of dads and 74% of mums admitted to preferential treatment of one child over the other!
