Nicola and Elie celebrated a stunning intimate wedding after restrictions and lockdowns ruined their original plans… Their day turned out to be better than they even imagined!
The couple met at university and have been inseparable ever since then and ended up graduating together!
It was Nicola’s birthday in August 2020 and Elie had intentionally made zero effort to organise anything for her, not even a card. “I’m relatively a simple person and never ask or expect gifts but it was strange and unlike him as he usually puts a lot of effort into all birthdays and milestones,” Nicola recollects.
Elie had organised an ‘apologetic’ weekend away in Wollongong to make up for not having ‘time’ to have organised or done anything for Nicola’s birthday… What could they possibly do in Woollongong?
Nicola and Elie ended up in a skydiving office, they went up on the plane and as he was about to jump out, he pulled out a sign that said… ‘Will you marry me?’ and then jumped out of the plane leaving Nicola profusely crying. Now that’s a proposal we havent heard before!
Nicola explains, “Elie jumped first so he had time on the ground to change his outfit and collect the ring from our family waiting below. I jumped last and when I landed our immediate families were below and I could see Elie on one knee.”
Like most COVID couples, Nicola and Elie were victims to restrictions and lockdowns… But when love is in play, nothing could stop them from having the best day with their closest.
The atmosphere and energy on the night was like no other. Nicola and Elie could feel the love and happiness for them in the room – everyone there was so overjoyed that they were still able to have their special day.
“Our reception was completely unique, I’d never seen anything like it. Jimket made my vision come to life, I wanted something magical and unique and that was what it was. Lots of candles, fairy lights and an amazingly unique venue,” Nicola described the most unique part of her wedding.
“I wouldnt change a thing, forever grateful for it all. Wish there could have been more people there to celebrate but just thankful we were lucky enough to have still been able to still have it!,” Bride Nicola
