How did you two meet? Tell us your proposal story!
“I was dancing with my friends at a birthday when I was 17. Sandrow (also 17), tapped me on the shoulder and said “We’re going to get married one day.”I laughed it off as we didn’t even know each other’s names! But sure enough, we became great friends and began a romantic relationship a few years on, on my 20th birthday! It is crazy to think that we have known each other so long, to think that we were just kids when we began.
“Sandrow and I have been together almost ten years and he asked me to marry him on the first day of our trip to Europe. We went bike riding, followed by lunch and a walk in the scenic iconic park of “La Ciutadella”. He surprised me with an engagement party at our next stop in Mykonos where we were meeting a group of our closest friends. (Who already knew of course!)”
What was the best moment of your Wedding (funniest, most heart-warming, and most memorable)?
“The most memorable moment of our wedding was meeting at the end of the aisle for the first time, we both burst into tears! For us, it was such a euphoric feeling of “we finally made it!” We had waited so long for our special day. With Covid being such a rollercoaster of emotions for us! But I suppose it did teach us that the finer details don’t matter – as long as you can have your special day – however you do it! “
What do you feel was the most unique part of your wedding?
“I believe we brought together our culture and traditions with a modern twist.”
Looking back, what’s one thing you’d change about your wedding?
“It’s funny, we keep having this discussion and in the end, we both go around and around and then just say ”Actually nothing!”. Each element of our day was chosen specifically because it meant something to us and although it is a very overwhelming and huge experience – it really is one of the best days of your life. I don’t think you can really regret any choices, apart from stressing – without me sounding too cliche! “
Any advice you would give to future Brides planning their Wedding in managing Covid?
“The best advice that I can give is – if you can’t trust the supplier with ‘This is my inspiration, I’ll leave it up to you to tie in’ then don’t bother booking them. There are so many details and so much stress on the bride, it is so important to trust those around you and appreciate their work for what it is. For example, I had absolutely no idea what my bridal bouquet would look like, I just sent all of the images of my dress fittings to my florist (Stasia Fox from Bloom Club) and told her to surprise me. She did with a bouquet of white imported Ecuadorian Roses and created texture using shades Moonstone & Playa Blanca. I had complete trust in her work and I believe she could creatively and strategically put together florals that would best go with my theme for the day!”
