Their Love Story

Jenayde and Afonso crossed paths in their teens, but the stars didn’t align until they were adults. Life took them on different journeys until fate brought them back together. Their relationship blossomed, and they became inseparable, a team growing and evolving hand in hand.

The Proposal

The proposal? It was a fairytale. Alfonso whisked Jenayde away to the remote, breathtaking beaches of Broome, Australia. The room was adorned with flowers from local businesses, setting the stage for those few precious words that sealed the deal. Simple, intimate, and utterly heartwarming.

The Wedding 

This wasn’t just a wedding day; it was a three-day extravaganza. Picture this: a welcome dinner on day one, setting the stage for heartfelt reunions, leading to the grand ceremony and celebration on day two. And let’s not forget the pool party on day three, ending with a final dinner as everyone bid farewell. Joy, love, and the magic of a destination wedding in Italy filled the air with so much joy and love.

The Venue

Choosing the Masseria Potenti in Manduria, Italy as their venue was a decision made out of love for the place and a desire to create lasting memories with loved ones. The venue itself was the heart of their inspiration. It’s a sixteenth-century estate where rustic charm meets genuine warmth. 

Jenayde and Alfonso knew that they didn’t want to have their wedding in Australia, and waited for the international borders to open after the pandemic. They wanted their wedding to be different from “the norm” and for it to be a memory of a life-time. They invited 120 guests, and 110 made the journey, transforming the wedding into an unforgettable international holiday for all involved.

Jenayde’s Wedding Dress

Jenayde’s gown, a masterpiece by Nicole and Felicia Couture, set itself apart from the traditional. Inspired by gowns spotted at the Venice and Cannes Film Festival, she opted for pastel hues to contrast beautifully with the rustic backdrop. The design process from overseas started in December, with the stunning gown arriving in May. The halter neckline and the delicate incorporation of white tulle and flowers added bridal flair, while the overall look embodied Jenayde’s personality—bold, unique, and confident. Jenayde was even able to fly it out to Italy without Alfonso seeing it before the wedding. 

Cultural Elements

Cultural elements were incorporated into every aspect, honoring Alfonso’s Italian heritage. From food to music, even a red car, the celebration certainly displayed Puglian charm. It was a weekend not just about a wedding but about embracing a beautiful culture.

Favorite Moments

Jenayde’s favorite moment was stepping out as husband and wife at the reception, surrounded by loved ones who had journeyed from around the globe for them. It was a surreal moment of accomplishment, realizing that all the hard work and meticulous planning had paid off in the most beautiful way.

Advice For Future Brides

Jenayde’s advice for future brides is to have fun and enjoy the journey. Embrace every decision, relish the planning process, and savor every moment. Because when the day arrives and you see it all come together—the love, the details, and the joy—there’s nothing quite like it.
