Rebecca and Aaron Get Wedded at Yangaro

More than innovative decor, a forestful of flowers, or a mouthwatering feast, a wedding at its core is about the wellspring of love between the couple, as well as the meaningful relationships that uplift them as they begin their journey as one. Rebecca and Aaron tied the knot on the beach last August in a tiny ceremony attended by only 10 of their nearest and dearest friends. Held at the tranquil Yangaro resort in Queensland, their lovely elopement was an example of intimate weddings at their best.

How They Met

Rebecca and Aaron are proof that young love can blossom into an unbreakable partnership that stands the test of time! The pair met in high school 19 years before they would eventually wed, crossing paths at a sports day carnival. Rebecca, then a cheerleader, had caught Aaron’s eye, and the rest was history.

The two grew to become close friends. They went to band rehearsals, spent countless afternoons walking home from school together, and talked endlessly, deepening their bond. It was during a walk home that Aaron took Rebecca’s hand and asked her if she would be his girlfriend. From then on, they were high school sweethearts fated to be together forever.

The Proposal

Fifteen years into their romance, Aaron finally popped the question on Dunk Island after a dreamy weekend at Mission Beach, where the couple island-hopped and rode jet skis on the crystal clear waters. During the sunset hour, they shared a private picnic, and set out for a tranquil stroll onto a sandbar, totally surrounded by the gently lapping waves.

According to Rebecca, she had turned to Aaron, saying, “This weekend has been perfect.” He smiled and replied, “You know what would make this moment even more perfect?” She was shocked as he got down on one knee, holding out a ring.

A Fun-Filled Wedding Weekend

“To kick off our wedding celebrations, we hosted a dreamy Pre-Wedding Welcome White Party, a two-hour private sailing charter aboard the rare 72-foot heritage yacht Lady Enid,” the couple told Wedded Wonderland.

“With perfect weather, pristine blue waters, and a stunning golden sunset, the atmosphere was pure magic. Our dream team—photographer, videographer, and celebrant—joined us for a relaxed meet-and-greet alongside our guests, creating a warm and intimate vibe just a day before the wedding. As we sailed into the sunset, it all began to feel real; our long-awaited elopement was just around the corner, and the adventure was officially underway.”

The Wedding

Rebecca and Aaron wed on a serene seaside stretch on the green Yangaro grounds, opting for a late afternoon ceremony to coincide with the warm golden hour glow and high tides. With the vast sea and glittering sunset as the backdrop, they exchanged vows in the presence of the five couples who have stood by their side throughout the years.

Despite the winter month, the sun shone brightly, warming the lush venue. Fuschia roses and bougainvillea on minimalist pedestals by Espresso & Bloom adorned the ceremony set-up, while scattered petals marked the simple aisle.

Lensed by Timeless Images By Vanessa, the photos captured the quiet elegance of the affair. The couple posed for a romantic photoshoot along the grassy shoreline, basking in that newlywed glow surrounded by towering palm trees and verdant hills.

The Reception

The wedding party celebrated the newlyweds in a reception dinner held in the Cerulean Villa, which boasts a deluxe pool and deck area overlooking the Funnel Bay. Prepared by a private chef from Coastal Food Design, the fine dining wedding feast consisted of sumptuous dishes like twice cooked pork belly, aged beef fillet and baby spinach, savory sides, and decadent desserts—including the wedding cake, of course!

“With our hashtag, #BathingInLove, we were immersed in oceanic beauty and a tranquil waterside ambiance, celebrating not only our love but also the joy of sharing these precious moments with our cherished friends and the lasting friendships that enrich our lives in such a breathtaking setting,” the couple shared.
