Some weddings are remembered for their colour palette. Molly Smith and Tom Clare’s second wedding in Mallorca was memorable because it almost looked like it had one built in.
Set against the dreamy architecture of Son Marroig, the Love Island couple created a destination celebration where creamy Carrara marble, cascading white flowers, ivory fashion and soft sunset light all seemed to belong to the same visual universe. It was monochromatic, but not in the strict, everyone-wear-the-same-colour sense. Instead, the venue itself became the palette.
After legally tying the knot in London earlier this year, Molly and Tom headed to Mallorca for what could only be described as their cinematic second act. And if their first wedding was intimate and classic, their celebration at Son Marroig was the kind of destination wedding that makes you suddenly wonder whether your own venue needs a marble temple overlooking the Mediterranean.
Molly Smith and Tom Clare met on Love Island: All Stars in 2024, got engaged in 2025 and have now officially celebrated their marriage twice.
Their first ceremony took place in London, where the couple completed the legal side of their wedding with a more intimate celebration among their closest family and friends. But their Mallorca wedding was something entirely different: a full destination experience.
The celebrations reportedly stretched across several days, with pre-wedding gatherings, time on the water and a post-wedding white party keeping the festivities going long after the vows. Because apparently one wedding day is no longer enough when you have the Balearic Islands at your disposal.
The main event, however, belonged to Son Marroig.
There is a reason Son Marroig has become one of Mallorca’s most recognisable wedding locations. Perched above the Mediterranean, the historic estate is home to its famous marble pavilion, a classical structure that looks particularly dramatic against the surrounding mountains and sea.
For Molly and Tom, that existing architecture became the foundation of the wedding aesthetic.
The pale marble columns were dressed with abundant white florals and clouds of delicate greenery, creating an altar that felt almost like an extension of the structure itself. Nothing appeared to compete with the venue. The styling worked with its natural tones, allowing the stone, flowers and scenery to blend together rather than fight for attention.
This is where the monochromatic magic really happened.
The celebration was not defined by one literal colour worn by everyone in attendance. Instead, it leaned into a family of tones: white, ivory, cream, soft stone and warm neutrals, all gradually shifting as the afternoon moved toward sunset.
The result was cohesive without looking overly coordinated. A very important distinction for anyone who has ever seen a wedding Pinterest board become slightly too committed to the bit.
Molly's bridal look fit seamlessly into the visual story. She wore a heavily embellished white gown with a voluminous skirt and a dramatic veil that moved beautifully against the pale setting.
Tom complemented the aesthetic in a white dinner jacket paired with black trousers, offering a subtle contrast while still keeping the couple visually connected to the ceremony space.
Together, they looked perfectly framed by the marble temple and surrounding flowers.
The ceremony itself appeared intentionally restrained in colour, with white blooms cascading around the columns and lining the aisle. This allowed the architecture to remain visible while still transforming the historic setting into something distinctly their own.
It is proof that monochromatic wedding design does not necessarily mean stripping a celebration of personality. Sometimes, limiting the palette simply gives the textures and setting more room to speak.
At Son Marroig, there was plenty to look at: carved marble, overflowing florals, an expansive veil, Mediterranean views and the kind of golden-hour lighting that wedding photographers would probably like to keep on a permanent contract.
Ironically, for a wedding that appeared so monochromatic, the most important colour arrived naturally.
As the sun began to set, the ceremony was washed in warm shades of gold and peach. The sea and sky became the backdrop, softening the otherwise white and cream palette with the changing light.
That is the real lesson from Molly and Tom’s wedding.
A destination wedding does not always need to introduce more colour to feel connected to its location. Sometimes the smartest approach is to let the destination provide it.
The couple's styling remained deliberately neutral, which meant Mallorca could do what Mallorca does best. The mountains, sea and sunset brought dimension to the celebration without disrupting its visual cohesion.
There is something especially effective about building a wedding palette around what is already there.
At Son Marroig, the marble pavilion provided cream and stone. The florals added white and soft green. Molly and Tom's fashion continued the tonal story. Then, as evening approached, the Mediterranean landscape introduced warmth and colour.
Everything felt connected, but nothing looked forced.
That may be why the wedding photographs are so striking. The images are not busy. Your eye immediately travels from the couple to the marble columns, the white flowers and then out toward the sea. It is destination wedding styling that understands the value of a very good venue and, more importantly, knows when not to overdecorate it.
Molly and Tom may have already had one wedding, but their Mallorca celebration made a compelling case for the second ceremony.
