Worst Case Scenario: How To Downsize Your Wedding

COVID-19 has brought up all kinds of questions that we never thought we’d have to answer – but for many of our Fairies, downsizing or adjusting your wedding plans means looking at your wedding in a new way.

Today, we have gone ahead and done the work for you. Here are our top tips on how to downsize your wedding!

1. Review Your Guest List

Cut down your guest list to the absolute essentials, in order of celebrant, witnesses, essential suppliers (such as your photographer) and your family and friends. We know how difficult this may be, but creating two guest lists – one essential and non-essential, may help.

Celebrating their "original Wedding date" in style!! 23.5.20 Sydney, Australia ♡ @emmaclaiir and Aaron thank you so much for sharing your #notsoweddingday with us! Here's a piece of advice from this beautiful couple! _ "My biggest advice is use this day as a day to create a memory. Aaron and I are so excited to tell our future kids this story and explain to them everything that happen. A lot of people who know me know how excited I was to get married and I was so set on this date, but with everything that has happen we now know that a wedding is about marrying you best friend, spending it with the people that mean everything to you and just being able to spend the rest of your life with the love of your life. We are so excited for our new date and so excited at the fact that it’s going to be even more special then ever now because it’s going to mean so much more to us. Nothing will ever stop us from loving each other and a wedding for us is a celebration of love. After 8.5 years we were finally going to tie the knot until everything turned upside down, not only for brides and grooms but for so many people… we could have chosen to spend this day on the couch sad about the fact that we had to postpone our wedding but instead we have decided to celebrate the day and prepare ourselves for the new date. Our relationship is all about loving each other, growing together and making memories together… to us all this craziness is just another memory. Although it sucks and although it feels weird and yes I’ve definitely had my moments… we are just so grateful to have each other and so grateful knowing we still get to spend the rest of our lives together whether we say I do today or I do on the 30th of January🥂 To all my brides and grooms out there that had to postpone we feel you but please don’t spend the day being sad, make something of it, create new memories and don’t forget why you guys are actually getting married in the first place // a marriage is about you and your best friend, spending the rest of your lives together"
