The idea of setting up a gift registry may sound exciting, however it can be a little tricky figuring out the right way to approach it. We’ve put together a list of Do’s and Don’ts that will help guide you through the fun and sometimes overwhelming process of putting together the perfect gift registry.
DO set up your Gift Registry early
We’re thinking six months early..
Making sure your registry is organised will definitely be a pro since the Wedding planning will camouflage everything else. Build your registry over the course of a week by focusing on a specific department or category at a time.
DON’T Limit Guests Options
Guests love to have plenty of options to comfortably choose from. A good tip is to multiply the total amount of guests by two, then add a few extras to be on the safe side.
DON’T go overboard
Although it’s important to give guests plenty of options at the same time you don’t want to overwhelm your guests!
Think smart and rationally when it comes to the essential products for your home. Your house can only store so much, and if you don’t entertain often, do you really need that 60 piece dinner set?
DO include a little of everything
Focus on not going overboard, but looking at each and every ‘nook and cranny’ of your home. From a knife set to even an outdoor chair, don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!
Remember what we said, you can search far but do not duplicate or go over.
DON’T feel guilty
It’s your special day and the Gift Registry rule applies to each and every Bride. If you desperately need a 34 litre microwave, ask for it! What about a set of ceramic mixing bowls? You got it! At least your guests know what they’re gifting you is something you actually want, and if an item is pricey your family and friends may split the payment between them.
DO review everything once in a while
If you are an organised and early Bride, then reviewing each month before that special event will be a cinch.
Always look and overlook your Gift Registry with a salesperson to make sure everything is agreed upon. Keeping a copy of your list is key, not to mention important.
